The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and accurate handling of products. This role manages warehouse staff, coordinates shipping and receiving activities, enforces company policies, and drives continuous improvement in productivity, accuracy, and cost control. The Warehouse Supervisor is a hands-on leader who supports operational execution while developing and motivating the team.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership:
- Supervise day-to-day warehouse operations including receiving, storage, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory control.
- Monitor workflow, prioritize tasks, and allocate resources to meet business demands.
- Maintain accurate records in ERP system (shipments, transfers, inventory adjustments).
- People Management
- Lead, train, and develop warehouse staff (associates, material handlers, etc.).
- Schedule labor resources and manage attendance to ensure adequate coverage.
- Provide coaching, feedback, and performance reviews to team members.
- Safety & Compliance
- Enforce warehouse safety rules, OSHA standards, and company policies.
- Conduct regular safety audits and promote a culture of accountability.
- Ensure all equipment is maintained and operated safely (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.).
- Inventory & Quality Control
- Verify cycle counts, investigate discrepancies, and ensure inventory accuracy.
- Maintain proper storage practices to protect product quality and integrity.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain and Logistics teams on inbound/outbound coordination.
- Process Improvement
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Support continuous improvement projects such as slotting optimization, lean initiatives, and waste reduction.
- Partner with other departments (Customer Service, Supply Chain, Logistics) to resolve issues.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- 3+ years of warehouse, logistics, or distribution experience (supervisory experience preferred).
- Strong knowledge of warehouse processes, safety standards, and inventory management.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., NAV, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain.
$65,000 - $70,000 a year
