The Industrial Refrigeration Technician team members are responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining refrigeration and manufacturing equipment to ensure operational processes run efficiently and effectively. They handle and work through multiple priorities with urgency to ensure equipment downtime is kept to a minimum.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Ensure all safety procedures are followed. While all work, areas are kept in the highest safety standard possible.
- Ensure materials and physical working spaces meet and exceed company cleanliness standards.
- Utilize Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to document all maintenance and repairs.
- Inspect, repair, modify, and install refrigeration and HVAC equipment including refrigeration and air conditioning compressors, receivers, condensers, chillers, water cooling towers, forced air converter units, pumps, automatic and hand valves, expansion valves and capillary tubes.
- Conduct regular preventive maintenance inspections of refrigeration units, heating and ventilating units, evaporative coolers and make necessary adjustments or repairs.
- Repair or replace defective parts in units and equipment and their controls, including thermostats, automatic switches, fan controls, log switches, damper motors, louvers, relays, filters, controls, belts, compressors, heat exchangers, high limit controls, pressure controls, safety valves, and automatic gas valves.
- Perform skilled electrical maintenance work in the repair, installation and alteration of refrigeration/HVAC equipment, components, timers, motors and wiring systems as needed.
- Install, rebuild, replace or repair fans, motors, thermostats, fuses, filters, bearings, valves, controls, gaskets and other equipment as necessary.
- Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of manufacturing equipment as required.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- 5 or more years of experience in industrial refrigeration and HVAC.
- Strong working knowledge of controls and electronics.
- Knowledge and understanding of three-phase AC motors and variable frequency drives.
- EPA Certification
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to effectively collaborate with team members.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in tight spaces or on platforms in and around machinery.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Maintenance experience in a food manufacturing facility is a plus.
$29 - $38 an hour
