ChargeLab is seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Channel Partnerships to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing our key accounts and channel partnership strategy to maximize sales of our software products and maintain valuable partnerships. You are the CEO of our strategic accounts and will drive growth through consultative selling and advising. This senior role requires strategic vision, exceptional leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the electrical distribution industry.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership:
Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for managing and nurturing relationships with Chargelab’s key accounts and electrical distributors.
Align key account and distributor relationship initiatives with the company’s overall business goals and objectives.
In the future, lead and mentor a team of relationship managers, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and fostering professional growth.

Sales Optimization/Growth:
Set and achieve ambitious sales targets through tight account management and our distribution partners. 
Collaborate with the sales team to develop and implement innovative sales strategies to grow our accounts.
Monitor and analyze key accounts and distributor performance, providing strategic guidance and support to optimize sales efforts.

Partnership Development:
Identify and cultivate new partnership opportunities with potential distributors or 3rd party resellers.
Lead negotiations and manage high-level distributor agreements to ensure beneficial terms for both parties.
Oversee joint marketing and promotional activities with distributors to drive brand awareness and sales.

Market and Industry Insight:
Conduct comprehensive market research to stay ahead of industry trends, competitor activities, and customer needs.
Provide strategic insights and recommendations based on market analysis to inform product development and sales strategies
Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to strengthen relationships and identify new opportunities.

Training and Support:
Oversee the development and delivery of training programs for distributors and 3rd party resellers to enhance their product knowledge and sales capabilities.
Ensure the provision of ongoing support and resources to distributors to facilitate their success.
Develop and implement standardized processes and best practices for key accounts and distributor engagement.

Performance Metrics and Reporting:
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the success of distributor relationships and sales efforts.
Prepare and present regular reports to the executive team on distributor performance, sales metrics, and strategic initiatives.
Use data-driven insights to continuously improve strategies and drive business growth.

Company details

ChargeLab is the Android of EV charging. We don’t build hardware. Instead, we partner with leading manufacturers like Eaton, ABB, and Siemens to bundle their EV chargers with ChargeLab’s software. Our end customers include building owners, convenience stores, utilities, and fleets. They leverage our charging station management system (CSMS) and open APIs to manage thousands of EV chargers more efficiently.

By 2030, most new vehicles sold in North America will be EVs. ChargeLab has raised US $30 million to build the world’s best software for managing large networks of EV chargers. We currently have 65 full-time employees, including over 40 team members in engineering and product.

Hybrid work

This role is a predominantly remote but will likely require travel several times a year to meet with clients and attend conferences/industry events.

Twice a year, we host a 3-day onsite called ChargeFest. All remote team members fly to Toronto for this event. In-person attendance of ChargeFest is mandatory.

Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in sales, account management, or a similar role within the electrical distribution industry.
    • 3+ years of account management or sales roles for a SaaS business
    • Strong understanding of electrical distribution channels and market dynamics.
    • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and managing successful partnerships.
    • Track record managing a book of business of $5M+
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to travel as required to meet with distributors and attend industry events.
$140,000 - $180,000 a year
Plus variable compensation
