About the Role:

Checkout.com is actively looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Workplace Management Specialist to look after the smooth running and general happiness of our fast-growing Berlin office.

You'll be responsible for the upkeep of our office, capacity planning and social events. This role requires a ‘can-do’ attitude, always thinking two steps ahead and an approachable and friendly personality. This role also provides a great opportunity for progression and growth.

In this role you'll work independently with limited direction in a fast-paced environment, as well as interact with people at all levels. 

What You will be doing:

    • Being the first point of contact for all Workplace Experience / Office matters
    • Managing office supplies, vendors, catering, courier logistics, meeting room bookings and other operational tasks
    • Carrying out maintenance audits and organising repairs
    • Assisting with ensuring the health & safety compliance across the office, leading the first aid, and the fire warden teams
    • Organizing office activities and company events for a fast-growing and multicultural environment
    • Coordinating with our Procurement and Accounts teams and keeping oversight of incoming invoices and their payments
    • Proposing new ways to create a top class experience for staff and guests
    • Preparing desk setup for new starters and run the seating arrangements
    • Keeping the office and meeting rooms organised and tidy at all times
    • Answering the phone expertly and taking messages
    • Collecting post and distributing parcels to Checkout.com team members
    • Assisting the Global Workplace Experience Manager and the team with day to day duties and ad-hoc global projects

About You:

    • 4+ years experience in office administration/events planning or similar
    • Excellent organisation/prioritisation skills, used to juggling a demanding workload
    • Very proactive, with positive energy and a great teammate
    • Driven, with the desire to take on more responsibilities over time
    • Ability to successfully navigate through ambiguity
    • Superb communication skills, ability to interact at all levels within the organisation
    • Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken
