    • Fieldwork: Hike through diverse terrains, including wetlands, heavy brush, and dense forests.
    • Collaboration: Work closely with remote staff in Minnesota, reporting regularly on your progress and any questions or concerns.
    • Occasional Camping: Depending on the project, overnight camping may be required (details provided in advance).

    • You’ll be equipped with all the necessary tools for success, including training and access to our smartphone-based inventory system. If you love exploring the outdoors and gaining real-life field experience, this is the perfect role for you!

Required Qualifications:

    • Medical and auto insurance (required by state law).
    • Tree identification expertise.
    • Strong communication skills.
    • Proficient in smartphone technology, GPS, and digital cameras.
    • Backcountry or wilderness experience (hiking, camping, etc.)
    • Willingness to work in varied and rugged conditions, including steep terrain and wetlands.

Preferred Qualifications:

    • Comfortable troubleshooting tech issues in the field.
    • Interest in ecosystem conservation or natural resources.
    • Progress toward a degree in forestry or environmental science.
    • Wilderness First Responder Certification or firefighting experience a plus!

    • Mileage Reimbursement: All mileage-related travel is reimbursed at the IRS Standard Mileage Rate.
    • Flexible, Part-Time Role: This is a contract position with fluctuating work availability, perfect for supplementing income. It’s ideal for students looking to gain valuable experience in the field or those seeking seasonal temporary work.
