Chooose builds software to enable the lower carbon fuel value chains in hard-to-abate sectors.

Companies like Alaska Airlines, Air Canada, Delta Air Lines, and Flexport use the Chooose platform to build, operate and scale their SAF programs, and to advance voluntary and compliance carbon initiatives.

The Business Development, New Verticals role will lead how Chooose expands into new verticals and shape the revenue strategy.  The role is for someone with extremely high agency that is seeking to build a playbook through doing. 

What you'll do

    • Develop and execute end-to-end strategies for bringing Chooose to market in new verticals: identify and rigorously qualify new vertical opportunities, originate business in those verticals, and build a repeatable playbook. 
    • Continuously identify and validate customer needs in new verticals, and deliver structured internal feedback to the Product team. 
    • Originate and sign new business through a technical advisory process that is genuinely helpful to the customer.
    • Work with leaders from various functions within the customer (eg. Sustainability, Customer Experience, and Finance) to lead complex, multi-thread partnership cycles.
    • Support a named account list and develop long-term, multi-product account plans for establishing and expanding business within enterprise accounts. to grow our business within these enterprise accounts. Own key enterprise relationships from first contact to signature.
    • Proactively identify, lead, and contribute to team projects to refine our Business Development processes with an emphasis on maintaining a culture of continuous learning. 
    • Maintain a balanced approach and multiple perspectives – enable commercial growth while always considering Chooose's commitment to enabling long-term, high-integrity climate action.
    • Continually educate yourself on the carbon-related requirements and market trends impacting our customers and the sectors where we operate.

What you bring to the table

    • 5+ years demonstrated success in technical business development or management consulting – you can point to specific enterprise contracts that you originated and closed, and your customers would be eager to hold reference calls on your behalf.
    • You’re ambitious and see yourself building and leading an enterprise revenue organization soon.
    • You listen carefully and help customers solve their problems. You’re extremely detail-oriented and can anticipate needs before they arise.
    • You're naturally curious and passionate about climate change, and you understand how software can make a difference.  
    • You don’t wait for anyone else to solve problems, you take initiative and get things done. 
    • You're willing to be flexible with your work hours to support your colleagues and accommodate our global customers.
    • Frequent travel often on short notice.
    • You're located in the EST time zone.
    • You have superior verbal and written communication skills in English. Spanish is a plus.
The interview process

At Chooose, we prioritize transparency throughout our interview process. If your qualifications look like a fit, we’ll begin with 1-2 introductory conversations where you'll have the chance to discuss your experience and learn more about our company. The second phase varies depending on the role and will involve a practical exercise for you to show your work. You’ll receive written instructions for the exercise in advance, and we’ll then schedule a time to discuss. The third and final phase consists of a one-on-one conversation with a member of our executive team. The process should take approx. 3-4 weeks. While we strive to keep to this timeline, the occasional adjustment may occur; we’re focused on ensuring for enough time to get to know one another.
