About the Position: 
ChowNow is seeking an experienced Business Development leader to join our team and drive growth through strategic partnerships. This is an exceptional opportunity to have a significant impact on a rapidly scaling mission-driven organization that already maintains a large roster of respectable partners in both the Technology and Food & Beverage industries.

As the Director of Business Development, you will lead and continue to build our  Business Development program and partner with our Executive team to design and activate new opportunities, manage an existing pipeline of opportunities, and oversee the health of our current, important relationships.  

Reports to the Chief Operating Officer; no current direct reports.

Specifically, you will:

    • Lead the Business Development efforts on behalf of ChowNow
    • Understand the landscape of the restaurant technology market and articulate the value and differentiators of ChowNow’s business model
    • Underwrite the value of opportunities to collaborate other impact products and brands in both Tech and Food
    • Directly manage Tier 1 relationships
    • Work closely with Product, Marketing and Revenue teams and align to efforts relating to ChowNow’s business goals
    • Identify and close strategic opportunities focused on sales/marketing channels and  product integrations
    • Work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Finance, and Biz Ops to define partnership strategy
    • Work closely with Data to support ideas for new opportunities and report on existing programs
    • Represent ChowNow in meetings with external parties and at conferences
    • Maintain active relationships with our partners and serve as primary point of contact for business level communications
    • Build and develop a team to support BD efforts across the organization and our industry
    • Co-create the vision and  expansion of ChowNow products and services into new categories and markets

Within 1 Month You’ll:

    • Progress through our Ramp Camp (ChowNow’s New Hire Onboarding Experience)
    • Meet and begin to collaborate with key internal stakeholders on existing projects
    • Meet and begin to collaborate with current partner counterparts in 20+ organizations
    • Understand the history and purpose of our product integrations and channel partnerships
    • Review our existing database of opportunities
    • Acquaint yourself with internal documentation and agreements related to partnership relationships and activities

Within 3 Month You’ll:

    • Meet and develop relationships with potential partners that are currently in the pipeline
    • Add 2 or more new partner opportunities that are not in the existing pipeline
    • Assume the role of ChowNow’s main point of contact with select, critical partners  
    • Begin reporting cadence to executive stakeholders
    • Master our existing partnership process from initial contact to launch and support

Within 6 Months You’ll:

    • Source 10+ new strategic opportunities
    • In partnership with our Recruiting team, hire 1-2 direct reports to help support our growing portfolio of partners and source new opportunities
    • Refine and improve the departments existing practices and processes 
    • Gain deep knowledge and insights of industry dynamics, trends, product positioning, and competitor strengths and weaknesses to inform ChowNow’s opportunities

Within 12 Months You’ll:

    • Have created a fully functional department with mature sourcing, servicing, and reporting capabilities
    • Maintain deep relationships and information exchanges with key internal stakeholders 
    • Have built deep relationships with critical partners and uncovered opportunities for increased value for both sides
    • Pursue integration and channel partnerships in previously untapped  categories
    • Present to Executives and Board Members an ROI-oriented 12 month plan for the next phase of ChowNow’s Business Development function

You Should Apply If:

    • You have 7+ years of experience in business development, partnership, or strategy roles
    • You have 3+ years in a leadership role
    • You have a proven ability to develop strategic partnerships in the tech industry and direct experience driving product integrations
    • You have familiarity with the restaurant technology landscape or a strong interest in learning about the industry
    • You have a strong ability to communicate the value and opportunity of our product
    • You have a passion for products with impact and reach
    • You have experience building, managing, and developing a business development team
    • You have an ability to set measurable goals for the team and reliably execute on them
    • You have the ability to travel 15% - 20% of the time with some overnight travel (Post COVID-19 restrictions)
