Job Purpose
As a DevSecOps Engineer, you will lead the design and implementation of secure, automated deployment pipelines and cloud infrastructure solutions. You will integrate security practices throughout the development lifecycle while ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness of cloud environments. Working in an agile, client-focused environment, you will mentor other engineers and establish DevSecOps best practices that support applications built with Spring Boot (Java/Kotlin), front-end technologies (Angular/React), and different database systems (Neo4j, MySQL).
Key Accountabilities
Advanced Cloud Infrastructure & Architecture
Design and implement scalable, secure cloud architectures using AWS services including compute, container orchestration, serverless, and managed database services.
Architect multi-environment infrastructure solutions that support development, staging, and production deployments.
Implement Infrastructure as Code using industry-standard tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK to ensure consistent, repeatable deployments.
Design cost optimization strategies and implement monitoring solutions to track resource utilization and spending.
Security Integration & Compliance
Integrate security practices throughout the development and deployment lifecycle, implementing comprehensive DevSecOps principles.
Design and implement security controls including identity and access management, encryption at rest and in transit, and network security configurations.
Establish automated security scanning, vulnerability assessment, and compliance monitoring processes.
Ensure adherence to security standards and regulations while maintaining development velocity and operational efficiency.
CI/CD Pipeline Leadership
Design and implement sophisticated CI/CD pipelines that support various application stacks including Spring Boot back-end services and front-end deployments.
Architect automated testing strategies including unit tests, integration tests, security scans, and performance testing.
Implement advanced deployment strategies including blue-green deployments, canary releases, and automated rollback procedures.
Establish comprehensive monitoring and alerting systems that provide full visibility into application and infrastructure health.
Technical Leadership & Mentorship
Guide and mentor junior and mid-level DevSecOps and infrastructure engineers in cloud best practices and security integration.
Lead architectural discussions and technical planning for infrastructure and deployment initiatives.
Drive adoption of DevSecOps practices, security automation, and cloud-native development approaches.
Foster knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the engineering organization.
Documentation & Quality Assurance
Develop comprehensive infrastructure documentation including system architecture diagrams, deployment procedures, security protocols, and operational runbooks that ensure system reliability and knowledge continuity.
Establish quality assurance frameworks for infrastructure and deployment processes that ensure solutions meet functional and non-functional requirements including security compliance, performance standards, and operational excellence.
Lead implementation of automated quality gates and monitoring systems.
Knowledge and Experience
7+ years of extensive experience in DevOps/DevSecOps with deep expertise in cloud platforms, particularly AWS, and infrastructure management.
Advanced knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK), containerization (Docker), orchestration platforms (Kubernetes), and serverless technologies.
Proven track record of implementing secure CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment strategies.
Strong understanding of security best practices, compliance frameworks, and security automation tools.
Experience with monitoring and observability tools including cloud-native monitoring solutions and distributed tracing systems.
Advanced knowledge of networking, security groups, VPCs, and cloud security services.
Demonstrated experience in leading infrastructure projects and mentoring engineering teams.
Excellent English communication skills and experience working in agile, cross-functional environments.
Relevant certifications are a plus.
