Overview:
The Senior HR Analyst (Payroll) is responsible for managing and analysing HR data, supporting payroll operations, and ensuring compliance with labour laws and organisational policies. This role requires a hands-on, proactive professional who works closely with the core HR /Shared Services team in Portugal. Fluency in both English and Portuguese is mandatory to effectively support the organization and collaborate across teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Management & Compliance
Prepare and oversee end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with statutory requirements.
Reconcile payroll data, resolve discrepancies, and ensure alignment with financial records.
Stay up to date on PT payroll regulations and implement changes as needed.
Coordinate with Finance and external vendors on payroll audits and reporting.
Process Improvement & Systems
Identify opportunities for process automation and improved data integrity.
Support HR projects related to compensation, benefits, and workforce planning.
Teamwork & Collaboration
Act as a proactive, hands-on contributor within the core HR team in Portugal.
Work closely with colleagues across HR, Shared Services, IT, Finance, and
other departments
Support knowledge-sharing and continuous improvement within the team.
Employee Support & Advisory
Serve as a subject matter expert on payroll policies, procedures, and compliance.
Support employees with payroll-related queries in a professional and timely manner.
Advise HR partners and business leaders on compensation trends and payroll impacts.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
5+ years of HR analyst or payroll experience, with at least 2 years in a senior/lead role.
Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, compliance, and HR data reporting.
Advanced Excel skills and experience with HRIS and payroll systems (e.g. Oracle, ADP).
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
High attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive/confidential information.
Mandatory: Fluent in both English and Portuguese (written and spoken).
Hands-on, proactive mindset with strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
