Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join our nearshore team working on a revolutionary mortgage loan origination system. In this role, you will serve as the critical bridge between our client's product analysts and our development teams, translating business requirements into detailed user stories that follow the INVEST principles. You will work autonomously to gather information, clarify requirements, and ensure that our development teams have clear direction to build innovative solutions that transform the mortgage origination process.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate directly with the client's product analysts to extract, analyze, and document business requirements
Create detailed and well-structured user stories following the INVEST methodology (Independent, Negotiable, Valuable, Estimable, Small, Testable)
Present user stories to development teams during business refinement sessions
Support technical refinement processes by providing clarification on business requirements
Proactively identify gaps in requirements and pursue necessary information to complete user stories
Learn and apply mortgage industry knowledge to ensure user stories align with domain-specific needs
Leverage generative AI tools to enhance user story creation and documentation
Work with technical stories requiring basic understanding of integrations, APIs, and databases
Maintain clear documentation of requirements and decisions for future reference
Participate in agile ceremonies to ensure continuous alignment between business needs and development efforts
Required Qualifications
3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in software development environments
Strong experience writing user stories following agile methodologies
Experience working with cross-functional development teams
Basic understanding of system integrations, APIs, and database concepts
Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
Autonomous work style with ability to proactively pursue necessary information
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Fluent English proficiency (both written and verbal)
Experience with agile frameworks (Scrum)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the mortgage or financial services industry
Knowledge of loan origination systems or mortgage processing workflows
Familiarity with using AI tools for documentation and requirement analysis
Experience working in distributed teams across different time zones
Background in requirements gathering for complex systems with multiple integrations
Experience with requirements management tools and documentation systems
