Opportunity Overview
CI&T seeks an experienced Tech Lead to work on CI&T engagements for clients in Australia. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing the technical aspects of our projects, ensuring CI&T provides top-notch technical solutions to our Australian clients. This role involves working closely with project managers and technical teams in Australia, both with CI&T and client teams, but as important, guiding and supporting our local (Philippines) squads of engineers, to deliver outstanding results.A

Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Strategic Guidance
Define and communicate technical vision, architecture, and standards across the full technology stack, including modern back-end frameworks, front-end technologies, database systems, and cloud platforms.
Lead architectural decision-making and ensure alignment with business objectives and long-term scalability requirements.
Establish and enforce coding standards, best practices, and quality gates across front-end, back-end, and infrastructure domains.
Drive technical innovation while balancing pragmatic delivery needs and maintaining system reliability.
Team Leadership & Mentorship
Lead and mentor a diverse team of engineers, including full-stack, front-end, back-end, and DevSecOps specialists.
Facilitate knowledge sharing, code reviews, and technical discussions to elevate the team’s capabilities.
Guide career development and technical growth paths for team members across different specializations.
Foster a collaborative culture that encourages experimentation, learning, and continuous improvement.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Delivery
Collaborate with product managers, scrum masters, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Ensure cohesive project execution by coordinating efforts across technical domains and teams.
Drive agile practices and ceremonies, ensuring technical considerations are well represented in planning and delivery.
Balance technical debt management with feature delivery to maintain sustainable development velocity.
Strategic Technical Planning
Develop technical roadmaps that anticipate future requirements and technology evolution.
Evaluate and recommend new technologies, frameworks, and tools aligned with business goals.
Lead proof-of-concept initiatives and assess technical risks for new features and architectural changes.
Ensure security, performance, and scalability are integral to all technical decisions.
Documentation & Quality Assurance
Establish documentation standards and ensure comprehensive technical documentation across systems and architecture.
Define and enforce quality assurance processes to meet functional and non-functional requirements.
Drive implementation of code quality metrics, performance benchmarks, and reliability standards.
Foster a culture of technical excellence through systematic quality reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.

Knowledge and Experience
7+ years of extensive experience in software development and architecture, primarily focused on web solutions. Minimum 2 years in a tech lead, software architect, principal engineer, or similar leadership role.
Hands-on experience coding, implementing, and testing multiple large-scale or complex web applications.
Proven expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript with production-grade development experience using React-based frameworks (especially Next.js) and Node.js on the server side.
Strong proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud), microservices architecture, APIs, integration strategies, and web design patterns.
Experience with non-functional requirements such as scalability, reliability, and performance.
Demonstrated success in leading technical teams and driving architectural decisions in diverse tech environments.
Skilled in setting technical standards, performing code reviews, and mentoring engineers across disciplines.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies, sprint planning, estimation, and technical delivery management.
Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and automated testing.
Excellent communication skills in English, capable of explaining complex technical concepts to varied audiences.
Previous client-facing experience with the ability to manage technical relationships and set clear expectations.
Strong business acumen; able to align technology choices with strategic business goals and cost considerations.
Relevant industry and advanced certifications are a plus.
