CIC Berlin is looking for a personable and highly organized individual to market and manage event coordination operations, foster relationships with the local innovation ecosystem, and support event programs that will benefit our community. This is an exciting, full-time opportunity for someone with 5 years of professional experience developing, curating, marketing, and leading events and programming in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The Event Manager will connect our clients, collaborative partners, and the local community to enrich our growing innovation ecosystem.

CIC opened our newest location in Berlin in April 2024. The location became the third CIC Innovation Campus in Europe, serving as a strategic addition to our campuses in Warsaw and Rotterdam, and an integral part of our global expansion plan.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY WORK
As an Events Manager at CIC, your day-to-day responsibilities involve orchestrating a diverse range of events that serve as pivotal platforms for entrepreneurs, innovators, and community members to connect and learn with like-minded individuals. This includes planning and executing industry-specific gatherings, startup workshops, and community engagement events with a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion. 

Potential responsibilities will include:
• Establishing and maintaining proactive relationships with CIC clients and partners, clearly communicating CIC’s Events program philosophy and guidelines for hosting various events, including in-person, virtual, and hybrid formats.
• Managing the Events team's annual budget, developing the Events program's objectives and initiatives in collaboration with internal teams and partners, and engaging in ROI analysis and community feedback mechanisms to refine CIC's event offerings.
• Leading and mentoring the full-time Event Coordinator by setting clear expectations, developing team processes, and providing feedback and training, ensuring a balanced workload that matches skill sets.
• Managing all facets of event execution at CIC Berlin, from initial inquiries and event coordination to post-event evaluation. This includes handling logistics, utilizing event management software, coordinating with building management, ensuring policy compliance, and leveraging marketing channels for event promotion.
• Overseeing the maintenance and enhancement of event spaces and AV equipment, suggesting and implementing improvements. Coordinating event staffing, setup, and breakdown with CIC staff, acting as a support resource to ensure smooth event operations.
• Supporting marketing initiatives through maintaining strong relationships with key Berlin organizations, helping to inform local market priorities, identifying marketing opportunities, and tracking and analyzing outcomings.

ABOUT YOU
Our ideal candidate for the Events Manager role is a service-oriented individual who thrives in dynamic, evolving environments and exhibits exceptional organizational and communication skills. This candidate is also versatile, comfortable with ambiguity, and possesses a creative mindset for problem-solving and improving event offerings. Additionally, they have a knack for technology, with an understanding of A/V equipment and event data tracking systems, and a creative flair for design and engagement, leveraging social media and design tools to enhance event experiences.

YOU HAVE
• At least 5-7 years of experience coordinating corporate events (experience with social justice, community organizing, or community building strongly preferred).
• Experience in event promotion, marketing, and engagement strategies, data collection, and collaborative relationships.
• Flexibility to occasionally work evenings and weekends and to attend community events on behalf of CIC Berlin.
• An understanding of Berlin and community organizations and engagement is preferred.
• Ability to legally work in Germany. CIC is unable to sponsor visas for this role at this time.
• Fluency in German and English.
