POSITION PURPOSE:
The Global Consultant Relations Team is seeking a Vice President to support CIM’s relationships across the global consultant relations community. This position can be located in CIM’s New York office or remote in Boston or another East Coast city and will report to the Head of Consultant Relations. The ideal candidate will have relevant industry experience and be keen to take on an integral role in a team‐based environment.
The successful candidate for this role will be expected to grow and leverage our relationships. They will be responsible for regional and global consultant relationships based along US Central & East Coast / Canada. They will need to coordinate activities to maintain and deepen existing relationships, develop new relationships and increase new business opportunities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in strategic business planning to build and update overall team / individual firm plans
- Partner with the Institutional Client Group to grow, diversify and retain business across consultants, OCIOs and select financial intermediaries
- Develop and maintain relationships with Research / Field consulting teams and other influencers at assigned investment consulting firms
- Maintain a thorough understanding of assigned investment consulting firms, including their business strategy and competitors, client roster, key decision makers/influencers and their biases, manager selection process, and communication preferences
- Achieve and maintain buy ratings at assigned consulting firms to help drive assets/ flows. Leverage strong research ratings to engage strategically with field consultants to create ongoing commercial opportunities for the firm
- Responsible for hosting meetings (virtually and in-person) and all pre- and post-follow-ups from meetings
- Attend conferences. Communicate and act upon competitive intelligence or feedback relating to CIM, capabilities and market trends
- Communicate with various CIM stakeholders to provide market / industry information and feedback to further enhance CIM’s investment capabilities and growth opportunities
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: (including certification, licenses, etc.)
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related field required
- ~10 years of experience, ideally 5+ years of institutional relationship management/ business development and/or other relevant experience
- Track record of building and expanding relationships with investment consultants and fiduciaries in the United States
- Appreciation for the trends and buying behavior of North American LPs with a track record of successfully raising assets
- Strong understanding of real estate, infrastructure and private markets preferred
- Series 7 & 63 Licenses required

Actual base salary considers several factors including but not limited to geography, job-related knowledge, experience, and budget. The start of the salary range is typically associated with the minimum experience required. At CIM, base pay is one part of the total compensation package. For this role, bonus compensation may be a significant part of the total compensation. The anticipated base salary range for the position is $150,000- $225,000.
