Audio Engineer
Part-Time Position

In addition to show responsibilities, the Audio Crew (Part-Time)is responsible formaintaining and/or repairing all technical elements of the show under the direction of the Audio Supervisor, and/or the supervision of the Production Manager. Effective oral and written communication skills are essential, as are interpersonal skills. The ability to work effectively in a team environment is required. The ability to work with established deadlines is required. The ability to work effectively with diverse populations is required.   
 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time. 
 

·       Ensure that Blue Man Group values and artistic vision are understood and supported across the organization; 
·       Assist with the maintenance and repair of all technical elements of the show under the direction of the Audio Supervisor and/or Production Manager; 
·               Participate in daytime work calls as scheduled; 
·               Execute general repair, construction, maintenance, and/or restock of Audio Department supplies and equipment; 
·               Troubleshoot technical issues as they arise; 
·               Maintain open communication with management and associated show staff about any show notes, technical problems or concerns; 
·               Responsible for maintaining props, equipment, and workspaces as defined by your preset; 
·       Maintain Audio Department for the local production; 
·               Participate in training for new Audio Crew; 
·               Maintain open communication with the Audio Supervisor regarding back stock levels of supplies in the Audio Department jurisdiction; 
·               Support cross training and workshops as needed; 
·               Must be willing, and available, to run more shows during the holiday schedule than usual; 
·       Show Responsibilities; 
·               Mix live music for performances as directed by the Audio Supervisor, BMG Audio Head of Department, and BMG Artistic Direction. 
·               Execute show cues, turnover duties and post-show duties in a safe, professional, timely and efficient manner; 
·               Responsible for tending to all show notes, as given by the Audio Supervisor, Stage Management, and the Production Manager in a timely and efficient manner; 
·               Represent Blue Man vision and values when interacting with theater patrons; 
·       Participate in the maintenance of Blue Man Group’s health and safety culture; 
·               Adhere to safety rules and regulations for locality; 
·               Assist the Department Supervisor with creating and maintaining new safety procedures for the show and community; 
·       Encouraged to attend full company, crew, and any prescheduled meetings;  
·       Execute duties for local Blue Man events as scheduled. These events include, but are not limited to, rehearsals, press events, shows and outside gigs; 
·       All otherwork related duties as assigned. 
 

Qualifications

·       Strong operational and programming knowledge of sound consoles and equipment for live entertainment; 
·       Fluent in English, both written and spoken;  
·       Where permitted by applicable law, must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine and booster by date of hire to be considered for employment; 
·       Verification of the right to work in the United States for Blue Man Group, as demonstrated by completion of the Form I-9 upon hire and the submission of acceptable documentation (as noted on the Form I-9) verifying one’s identity and work authorization; 
·       Able to pass a background check, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education, and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law;  
·       A member of the running crew is required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. S/he must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  This position requires ascending and descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet, legs, hands, and arms.
