Blue Man Group at the Astor Place Theatre is looking for a full-time Assistant Box Office Manager. 

The Assistant Box Office Manager is responsible for supporting and assisting the Box Office Manager with all operations of the Box Office, as well as providing coverage as needed. Responsibilities include overseeing all ticket operations, maintaining box office bank accounts, preparing advanced reporting & box office statements, ensuring good customer service, as well as providing coverage for Box Office Manager as needed. Work closely with the Group Sales Department, maintain good communication with Manager and Box Office staff. Conduct box office window ticketing sales including processing window and broker ticket transactions. Assist in maintaining all accurate box office cash accounts; coordinate will-call pick-ups and transactions.  Must be motivated self-starters who are able to multi-task within a busy work environment. Great customer service skills and patience are a must. This is an assistant supervisory role; candidates ideally have some experience managing or supervising others.

Experience in the Ticket Master Host ticketing system and TM1 strongly required. Familiarity with the accounting process, record keeping requirements for 3rd parties and API’s as well as programming knowledge (inventory, EMT event management, qualifiers, etc.) is a plus.

Qualified candidates must be customer focused, detail-oriented, an excellent communicator/collaborator, organized, fast learner and capable of having fun while maintaining high work standards. Candidates should be able to maintain good customer relations and have a pleasant personality.  Applicants should have a flexible schedule with holiday availability and be willing to work within the scheduling needs of the Box Office Manager.  Evening and weekend hours are regular and required.

Event Management
•         Build and maintain all events assigned within the appropriate ticketing software (EMT-Event Management)
•         Running Reports and Understanding of Host Reporting
•         Assist, and oversee internal staff, as necessary, with event programming, reporting, ticket holds and other ticketing details
•         Work with the Marketing, Internal Sales team, Ticketmaster Client Reps, and other management teams to set-up events, place holds, process orders, and release tickets in a timely fashion
•         Assist in overseeing the monitoring of all ticket inventory
•         Collaborate with Sales team to monitor and dynamically price tickets to maximize revenue
•         Ensure ADA Compliant Ticketing Practices
  
Accounting/Financial Duties
•         Assist in maintaining accurate Box Office accounting records and files
•         Perform daily Box Office safe reconciliation, prepare deposits, and run all daily financial reporting
•         Assist in the preparation of all Box Office settlement reports and nightly Show Reports
 
Other Duties
•         Monitor all ticketing software and hardware and report any issues immediately
•         Embrace all new ticketing technology provided by Ticketmaster including TM1 Entry, TM1 Sales, TM1 Events etc.
•         Keep current with all key ticketing trends in entertainment industry
•         Attend all relevant meetings, discussions for accurate note taking
•         Any additional duties as assigned by leadership
 
What This Person Will Bring
•         1-2 years’ experience as an Assistant Box Office manager or Box Office representative, including event programming level work experience
•         Strong knowledge of customer service, computer operations and organization skills
•         Understanding of Ticketing systems including, but not limited to Ticketmaster Host, Account Manager and the TM1 product suite
•         Knowledge of API’s and Third-party processes along with payments
•         Ability to provide leadership, engage in positive interaction with staff and guests, prioritize, organize, motivate staff, problem solve, delegate, follow-up, communicate and diffuse possibly volatile situations with tact
•         Ability to communicate respectfully with diplomacy across all levels of business is essential
•         Ability to work evening and weekend hours, based on the needs of daily business operations
•         Detail-oriented with a strong ability to work under pressure to meet strict and fluid deadlines
 
This is a full-time salaried position, eligible for overtime, and a Competitive Benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, Life Insurance and 401K Plans. The starting salary for this position is $50,000.
