We are looking for a Rigging Technician to join our team at Drawn to Life in Orlando, FL! In this position, you will be in charge of operating the rigging equipment during performances, as well as ensuring safe setup, use and maintenance of Rigging equipment, including inventory and safety inspections. The ideal candidate will be flexible, a team player and autonomous enough to handle contingencies and work well under pressure.

The Rigging Technician will:
-          Assist the leadership in ensuring the safe setup, use and maintenance of Rigging equipment used by artists during performances, rehearsals and training periods;
-          Operate Rigging equipment during performances and rehearsals;
-          Run cue track(s) and maintain documentation as directed;
-          Inspect and maintain equipment and systems as directed;
-          Document and ensure compliance with the Rigging equipment safety inspection program;
-          Assist with inventory and, if necessary, identify any additional Rigging equipment that may be required;
-          Ensure the security of facilities at all times, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations;
-          Adhere to standards and regulations pertaining to the safety of Rigging equipment’s, and comply with safe working methods;
-          Assist with the maintenance of technical equipment;
-          Operate mechanized devices, or equipment, by running, maneuvering, navigating or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts and passenger vehicles;
-          Update maintenance and inspection records within Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as other show specific software such as maintenance databases;
-          Adhere to and promote all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations as they pertain to the safe operation of all elements related to the show; participate in all required health and safety classes and emergency rescue procedure training.
-          Maintain a flexible schedule for work calls, special events, rehearsals, training, maintenance and evening show performances;
-          Develop a thorough knowledge of Rigging equipment specific to the production in order to operate it safely;
-          Establish and maintain interpersonal relationships, by developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time;
-          Participate in special projects including the installation of new automated show elements, and interdepartmental projects that include automated elements or other needs that may fall within the Technician’s specialty as directed;
-          Perform all other job-related duties as requested.
 
 
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
-          College diploma (or equivalent) in live entertainment or theatre production (or equivalent work experience);
-          At least 3 years experience as a rigger; experience with aerial/human rigging an asset;
-          Good general understanding of all technical aspects of a show an asset;
-          Personnel management experience an asset;
-          Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, ...);
-          Good communication skills;
-          Ability to work high above the ground (climbing abilities essential);
-          Fluent in English, both written and spoken;
-          Operate mechanized devices, or equipment, by running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts and passenger vehicles;
-          Ability to perform the essential functions of the job including, but not limited to: crouching, kneeling, standing, lifting, sometimes for extended amounts of time; lifting at least 50lbs unassisted, etc.; Full list of essential functions will be sent in the offer. -          10-hour OSHA course completion card required;
-          Verification of the right to work in the United States for Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group, as demonstrated by completion of the Form I-9 upon hire and the submission of acceptable documentation (as noted on the Form I-9) verifying one’s identity and work authorization;
