We are currently looking to hire Healthcare Security Officers who are customer service oriented, enjoys the physical activity of walking, and understands the importance of de-escalation tactics. You'll be working at a full-service, acute care hospital with a state-of-the-art facility where you will be patrolling on foot the inside and outside of the hospital and nearby medical offices. If you forget your breakfast or lunch - don't panic! The hospital also has an in-house cafe with a wide variety of delicious foods, snacks, and beverages. Current available shift times are Wednesday through Sunday from 7:00am to 3:00pm OR Monday through Friday from 10:00pm to 6:00am.


PAY RATE
$16.00 per hour  
Non-exempt position (eligible for overtime when applicable under state law) 


THE POSITION
Healthcare Security Officers must provide a security presence and perform general security duties related to the safety and security of the facility, staff, patients and guests. Security work requires detailed logs of daily activity, hazard reports, and incident reports, adherence to contract specific programs and contract company policy, and compliance of HIPAA requirements. Officers must be able to work in stationary and moving positions, possibly in extreme weather conditions.  

Essential Job Functions

    • Responsible for safety, protection, and general security of Facility, Staff, Patients and Guests.
    • Engage with the client on a work performance level and provide excellent customer service and a positive attitude at all times.
    • Create and maintain an accurate and detailed Daily Activity Log.
    • Maintain compliance of HIPAA regulations.
    • Ability to perform job tasks in an extremely professional manner, while providing exceptional customer service in both fast and slow-paced environments.
    • Must be able to respond appropriately during emergency situations with a clear and focused mindset.
    • Know and understand the site layouts and be knowledgeable about general information.
    • Learn the site-specific rules and regulations established for the facility.
    • Be mentally engaged during shift through observation and reporting all problems or potential hazards to the Operations Supervisor and/or Contract Manager.
    • Ability to endure long periods of time working solo, patrolling facility, while maintaining mental focus.
    • Understand and execute the security objectives outlined for the contract with detailed precision.
    • Maintain legible and detailed documentation of work site observations, including professional incident reports.
    • Coordinate with Contract Manager, Security Supervisor, or facility staff to coordinate any emergency situations.
    • Comply with the Company's/Client's dress code for Healthcare Security Officers, arrive prior to the start of your shift ready to work.
    • Properly use and maintain all equipment, including vehicles, radios, computer equipment, flashlights, uniforms, etc.

Qualification Requirements

    • Provide credible references and I-9 Employment Eligibility Documentation (legal eligibility to work in the U.S.).
    • Must have a high diploma or GED.
    • Ability to perform job tasks in an extremely professional manner in a customer service driven industry.
    • Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language.
    • Ability to pass a background check and have a clean Motor Vehicle Record.
    • Must own a smartphone for scheduling and clocking in / out.
    • Ability to stand and walk for several hours per shift.
    • Reliable transportation and proximity to site(s)
    • Basic computer skills.
    • Positive attitude.
    • Punctuality, never late.
