The Finance Manager will administer the finance and accounting operations of the company, ensuring we are in strong financial standing to achieve our company goals and support the progressive ecosystem.

What You Will Do:

    • Configure and administer the day-to-day financial operations of the company (accounting, AR, AP, payroll, employee expenses, etc).  
    • Provide financial reporting and analysis to executives and the board to promote sound and timely management decision-making (including requisite analysis and insight on revenue, project cost, indirect cost, and SG&A trends and variances). 
    • Conduct monthly financial close activities.
    • Ensure compliance with accepted finance and accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Design and implement improvements to financial processes and systems.
    • Ensure all federal and state taxes and reports are filed accurately and on time. 
    • Project manage annual financial budgeting and forecasting processes for the executive team, ensuring that the annual plan reflects company strategic objectives.
    • Provide financial modeling, research, and analysis to inform company forecasting, sales proposals, product development, and company policies.

About You:

    • 5+ years of relevant experience.
    • Capacity to work independently while meeting multiple, competing deadlines with quality deliverables.
    • Excels as a "department of 1," who can performs equally well as a strategic thinker and a consistent and quick executer.
    • Committed to leveraging technology and data products to help Democratic candidates run for office and win, empower progressive causes, and increase civic participation.

Additional Qualifications (Desired but not Required):

    • CPA strongly preferred.
    • Familiarity with Quickbooks Online strongly preferred.
    • SAAS background preferred
The Finance Manager reports to the Chief of Staff, and works closely with the CEO and COO.  Civitech is headquartered in Austin, TX, with employees across the country. The Finance Manager can work in Austin or remotely in any US location. All employees are currently working remotely until it is safe to return to our office. 

Classification, Salary, and Benefits: Full-time, competitive salary commensurate with location and experience ($85,000 - $105,000 for Austin based candidates, with adjustments for some major metropolitan areas). Benefits include a company health plan with medical, dental, and vision insurance; four weeks paid vacation time per year; 10 days paid sick time; and a competitive company stock plan.
