Since its founding in 2019, over 100 partners -- a range of nonprofit organizations, national political committees, and individual campaigns -- have utilized Civitech’s tools to reach tens of millions of voters to help create a more equitable and progressive democracy. 

The Sales Development Representative will work closely with our Partnerships & Sales and Marketing Teams to develop new partnership leads and opportunities and hit revenue targets. You’ll be responsible for researching potential clients (campaigns and progressive organizations), initiating conversations about Civitech's value-add, and  arranging qualified meetings with the Sales and Partnerships Managers.

About our Sales and Partnerships Team: The Sales and Partnerships Team is focused on building strong relationships in the Democratic and Progressive ecosystem with organizations that are well-positioned to benefit from our software and services. This means being assertive and creative in establishing new relationships that will last long term and help build revenue for Civitech.

What You Will Do:

    • Identify and generate new sales opportunities for Civitech’s products and services. 
    • Conduct industry research -- through campaign and organization websites, articles, academic papers, and social media -- to identify prospective partners.
    • Develop customized outreach strategies for prospective partners to cultivate relationships and create interest in Civitech’s software and services.
    • Send personalized, strategic emails, make outreach calls, and lead high-level conversations with prospective partners and target accounts to qualify leads as sales opportunities.
    • Attend virtual and in-person networking events within the Democratic and progressive ecosystem to build relationships within the Democratic and progressive community and help build our sales pipeline.
    • Passionately advocate for Civitech’s software and services in the Democratic and progressive community, and help educate organizations and campaigns about Civitech’s products and services. 
    • Create, prioritize, and maintain strategic target account lists.
    • Manage data and account information in Salesforce CRM.
    • Be prepared to wear multiple hats in a startup environment.

About You:

    • Committed to leveraging technology and data products to help Democratic candidates run for office and win, empower progressive causes, and increase civic participation.
    • Quick-witted and persistent, you understand how to quickly match a prospect's needs with Civitech’s value proposition and are able to kick-start sales opportunities.
    • You have a fearless but thoughtful approach to cold outbound prospecting.
    • Ability to thrive in a startup environment -- you move quickly, think strategically, and are good at tactical execution.
    • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
    • Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
    • Experience with campaign management, voter engagement, and/or political organizing tools.
    • Experience leveraging Salesforce CRM functionality or other CRM tools.
    • Experience using data to improve strategy and decision making
Classification, Salary, and Benefits: Full-time, competitive salary commensurate with location and experience ($45,000 - $65,000 for Austin based candidates, with adjustments for some major metropolitan areas). Benefits include a company health plan with medical, dental, and vision insurance; four weeks paid vacation time per year; 10 days paid sick time; and a competitive company stock plan. 

Civitech is headquartered in Austin, TX, with employees across the country. This position can work in Austin or remotely in any US location.
