About the Team
The Engineering team at Clari is an Agile shop that practices Scrum across all our teams. We layer in coordination practices such as Big Room Planning to stay aligned with Clari’s KPIs quarterly across sites and teams. About the Role
The Experience Foundations team at Clari is looking for a Backend Senior Software Engineer to help us build the next generation of our Revenue Platform user experience and services. We are consolidating the UI across all of Clari’s products and deepening the integration among our services. You will be instrumental in crafting foundational front-end and back-end solutions relied upon by all of Clari’s application teams. As part of this effort, you will participate in efforts to consolidate and standardize various engineering practices, from code style and code quality tooling to continuous delivery.
We develop Enterprise SaaS products, fundamentally powered by AI and Analytics to transform the way track, forecast, and predict revenue. We are 100% cloud-native and build our product using reliable tools and technologies that our team knows and trusts, including Java, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, AWS, TypeScript, and React.
We’re a collaborative team of product managers, designers, backend, frontend, and quality automation engineers who genuinely enjoy working together. We are looking for a new team member who has a passion for building great products with simplicity, usability, scalability, and reliability in mind.
This is a hybrid opportunity based in Kraków, Poland. Candidates must be based in Poland.
Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with engineers, designers, and product managers to deliver a consistent, delightful and seamless user experience
- Develop new, highly performant & robust backend features exposed as REST and gRPC APIs to other platform services
- Evolve existing backend code to meet a high standard of code quality in an environment of loosely coupled services
- Develop key shared services for search, notifications, and other cross-cutting enterprise concerns
- Identify performance & robustness improvement opportunities and execute them
- Support other teams in using and integrating services and solutions provided by the Experience Foundations team
- Collaborate with engineers to shape future-proof interfaces that are easy to build against and meet the requirements of customer- and internal-facing teams
- Apply and evolve engineering best practices for consistent code patterns, style, and quality
- Approach technical solutions with a holistic mindset, focusing on outcomes and impact for stakeholders, DevOps, and customers
- Produce high-quality results by consulting on and contributing to large cross-functional projects that have a significant impact on the business
Qualifications
- Strong technical background, including 5+ years of experience working on large-scale Java/JVM-based applications in both monolith and microservice architecture environments
- Strong understanding of building robust and secure REST & gRPC-based service integrations and interfaces
- Experience with writing tests using mocks and data fixtures, with a focus on “shift left” principles for writing L0–L3 tests
- Solid understanding of algorithms & data structure-first design principles
- Solid understanding of (No)SQL, preferably PostgreSQL as well as MongoDB
- Experience with dependency injection patterns and best practices, preferably with Guice; other DI toolkit experience acceptable
- Some experience with observability in web applications (Splunk, Datadog, OTEL, micrometer, or similar)
- Experience with working in and enabling a true continuous delivery environment is preferred, including with tools such as Gradle or Bazel, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or other CI/CD solutions
