Clari's Infrastructure organization builds systems and tools to enable engineering velocity in a reliable manner. We partner with engineering teams to establish standards, improve reliability, and increase cost-efficiency. This is a great opportunity to make a massive impact on scaling cloud infrastructure to meet the high demand and rapid growth of both users and workload per user. 

About the Role
The Service Foundations Team is responsible for building and optimizing service frameworks, patterns, and local development processes that empower teams to easily create high-quality, remarkable products. The team also owns libraries and services that provide common functionality used by teams across Clari. You will be instrumental in laying the foundations for the next generation of services built by our AI and product development teams. 

As a member of the Service Foundations Team, you are passionate about improving the day-to-day experience of your fellow engineers. You have experience with Java development and build systems such as Bazel and Gradle, and you're comfortable navigating the complexities of large monorepos. You’ve spent time fine-tuning IDEs like IntelliJ and VS Code to enhance developer workflows and productivity. You enjoy writing GitHub Actions that streamline build, test, and deployment processes, and you take pride in designing reusable libraries and frameworks that provide common functionality for product teams across the company. You hold strong opinions, loosely held, and welcome new perspectives supported by thoughtful reasoning and data. You thrive in a collaborative environment where cross-team impact and a diversity of ideas are valued.

This is a hybrid position, which will require the ability to be onsite in our Kraków, Poland office as needed. Candidates must be based in Poland.

Responsibilities

    • Design, build, optimize, and own platforms, frameworks, libraries, and services used by applications throughout Clari
    • Lead projects to identify and overcome friction points in development processes
    • Shape the future of engineering across Clari by evangelizing best practices, establishing patterns, improving standards, and guiding teams towards achieving their fullest potential
    • Collaborate synchronously and asynchronously with team members across multiple timezones
    • Work with Architects, Product Development Teams, and other Software Engineers to gather requirements, design and build scalable, distributed systems

Qualifications

    • 5+ years of experience building cloud-based enterprise applications or systems using Java
    • Experience working with distributed systems and developing microservices
    • Skilled in building stateful and stateless services using frameworks like Spring Boot through REST and gRPC APIs
    • Familiarity with build tools (Bazel, Gradle, Maven), testing, static analysis, and reporting as it relates to pipeline automation
    • Experience working with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, TeamCity, or other pipeline tools
    • Passion for using metrics and data to solve challenging problems, make decisions, and iterate quickly
    • Experience working in a remote-first or distributed environment
