About the Team
Collaboration is at the core of what the Align team builds and how we build it.
Our team members work closely with one another, pairing to architect, design, and review implementations. We organize ourselves into Scrum teams composed of PMs, designers, engineers, and customer success advocates to foster deep collaboration across stakeholders. About The Role
You are a backend software engineer interested in building the next iteration of Align's rep productivity features. You’re an exceptional team player and communicator–you care about the end-user experience and maintainable code and you’re driven to find the solution, even if that means learning something new on the spot or spending time in front of the whiteboard.
This is a hybrid position, which will require the ability to be onsite in our Kraków, Poland office as needed. Candidates must be based in Poland.
Responsibilities
- Drive and lead collaboration among engineers, designers, and product managers to deliver a consistent, delightful and seamless user experience
- Architect, build, and improve application components, such as collaborative features focused on improving sales rep productivity and planning cadences
- Originate and lead engineering initiatives for code improvements and refactoring, including code-quality controls and elimination of tech debt
- Create a standard, robust 3rd-party API integration framework, including refinement of existing data synchronization tooling and use it to build new integrations with other Clari or external services
- Oversee API design, documentation, and code generation
- Maintain, enhance, and optimize application runtime observability and availability
- Follow the team’s Scrum process, actively participate in all ceremonies, and foster an autonomous team environment
- Actively mentor fellow engineers
Qualifications
- Exceptional ability and desire to adapt to new technologies and adopt effective software engineering patterns & practices
- Exceptional technical communicator: document solutions via diagrams, present designs and architecture to cross-functional teams and a desire to teach and mentor fellow team members
- 8+ years experience with object-oriented programming in a strongly-typed language, such as Java, Kotlin, Swift, C++, or C#
- Solid experience shipping distributed systems: cloud infrastructure, reliability & observability, performance, security best practices
- Strong experience with PostgreSQL or similar RDBMS, including data modeling and normalization; some NoSQL experience
- Strong experience with software development best practices such as interactive debugging, TDD & coverage, SOLID as well as EAP, GoF, and microservice architecture patterns
- Strong experience with CI/CD, ticketing systems (preferably Jira), IntelliJ or Eclipse
- Strong experience with building robust, scalable, and secure REST, gRPC, and/or messaging-based service integrations
- Solid experience with observability in web applications (Splunk, Datadog, Prometheus/Grafana, or similar)
- Solid experience with working in a true continuous delivery environment
- Some frontend development experience is desirable but not required
