We’re looking for a hands-on technical leader - not a people manager - to drive the adoption of modern DevOps practices across our teams and environments. In this role, you'll lead the design, automation, and scaling of our AWS-based infrastructure, champion infrastructure as code, and build high-performing CI/CD pipelines that enable fast, secure, and reliable software delivery.
You'll be a key voice in evolving our architecture, supporting multiple teams, and mentoring others in best practices across reliability, observability, and automation. If you're passionate about cloud technologies, love solving complex problems at scale, and want to help define how DevOps is done in a collaborative, high-performing environment - we’d love to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure using AWS services including ECS, ECR, RDS, CloudFormation, and Secrets Manager.
- Champion modern DevOps practices across engineering teams, aligning with business and security goals.
- Build and maintain robust Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.
- Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines with integrated secrets management, testing gates, and rollback strategies.
- Oversee containerization and orchestration, including Docker, ECS, and container security best practices.
- Design and implement monitoring, alerting, and observability tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus).
- Define and uphold reliability metrics such as SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs.
- Guide migration of legacy systems to modern DevOps pipelines with a focus on automation and reliability.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with development, security, and infrastructure teams to ensure scalable and secure delivery.
- Mentor team members and promote knowledge sharing, automation, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure operational excellence through proactive ownership of patching, backups, and disaster recovery strategies.
Requirements
- 5+ years of proven experience leading DevOps functions in mid-to-large scale cloud environments.
- Strong hands-on expertise in AWS (particularly ECS, ECR, RDS, CloudFormation, Secrets Manager).
- Deep understanding of high availability, failover, and cost optimization in cloud architecture.
- Advanced proficiency in Terraform and/or CloudFormation with reusable module design and state management.
- Expertise in containerization technologies and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, ECS).
- Solid experience with Git-based workflows (GitHub, CodeCommit) and GitOps principles.
- Strong scripting skills in PowerShell, with familiarity in Bash or Python being a plus.
- Knowledge of API gateways, distributed systems, and secure service-oriented architectures.
- Track record of implementing effective monitoring/alerting solutions and driving system reliability improvements.
- Experience managing multi-account, multi-region cloud environments.
- Familiarity with RDS SQL is desirable.
