About the role
Talent attraction & engagement. Source, attract and engage world class talent through various creative strategies.
Collaborate & learn. You'll partner with the rest of our team, communicate openly, give and receive thoughtful feedback, and have a chance to learn from people who excel in their areas of expertise while building a high performing talent function.
Take ownership. We're focused on building a high-trust, ownership focused environment where everyone aims to define what they think is most important to work on, and drive initiatives forward.

Key qualities
Demonstrated full stack technical recruiting experience. You've owned technical recruiting pipelines end to end and have 5+ years working as a technical recruiter working in fast-paced startup environments.
Innate drive to build process and talent foundations. You’ve created robust interview plans and processes from intake guides, job descriptions, interview training, and candidate calibration. You’re eager to build solid framework that enhances the experience for candidates and pushes hiring managers to think critically about their talent bench.
Excellent communicator with an ability to both encourage and push the team. A big part of this role is being able to build trusted relationships with the hiring managers and Claymakers. Your ability to provide sound feedback and recommendations to hiring managers and interviewers will strengthen the recruiting process. Candidate experience will always be prioritized while balancing needs of the business.
Data drives your decision making. You’re able to inform decisions based on dissecting the data in front of you (pipeline breakdown, interviewer calibration, time to hire, etc). You make sound recommendations rooted in data to move hiring processes forward.

Nice to haves
Familiarity with our talent tech stack. We're consistently leveraging automation to make the hiring process quicker and more enjoyable for candidates. We currently use Lever, Slack, LinkedInRecruiter, Zoom, and of course, Clay, as tools for hiring and internal communication.
Experience managing competing priorities. As our first Recruiter, you’ll manage hiring across different teams. An ability to manage a variety of roles and hiring managers while creating a strong system for prioritizing will drive success in this role.
Candidate experience & coordination needs. While we continue to create the best in class candidate experience, navigating our current coordination process + identifying gaps to improve the candidate journey is important. This includes our employer brand, candidate communications, and our careers page.

$130,000 - $200,000 a year

Working @ Clay
Based out of a central office on 5th Ave in Manhattan near Union Square. We're big on taking care of our team and always excited to hear different ideas that can help us to do this better.
