About the Opportunity
We are looking to add an Intermediate Designer to support our Project Design team in Toronto leveraging your innate ability to interpret vision and directives from Client into comprehensive design.
This role is crucial to Clearspace to help us scale and deliver on our mission.

About the Deliverables

    • Own the design elements of a project from kick-off to completion
    • Develop and execute Innovative design concepts that are impactful and aligned with project design strategy.
    • Work with our Junior Designers to develop and maintain Permit Drawings, Tender Drawings and Construction Drawings for ongoing projects, including plans, elevations, sections and schedules.
    • Manage and Coordinate with Junior designers & consultants to develop and maintain Working Drawings for ongoing projects including; RCP, Flooring, Fixtures, Furniture, Finishes, Partition, Power and Communication Plans, Elevations and Millwork details.
    • Collaborate on Client (Landlord, Tenants) presentations and present design Concepts during programming and design development.
    • Interface with construction team during tender and construction
    • Facilitate training and and onboarding of new designers and ongoing development of current junior designers through supportive mentorship.

About You

    • 4-6 years of experience in Interior Design
    • A Bachelor’s of Interior Design or a related field from an accredited institution
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Illustrator, or similar design software
    • Ability to collaborate in project team settings but also work well independently
    • Excellent time management skills
    • Able to engage in creative and critical thought to interpret sketches, drawings, program and other similar material
    • Ability to communicate design ideas and intent (verbal, written, graphic)
    • Strong communication skills in both English (French is a plus!)
    • Understanding of client's expectations of deliverables at different phases of projects including construction documents.
    • Knowledge of office and workplace design (ideally some work experience)
    • Experience in rendering a strong plus but not a requirement
