About this role: The Program Associate - Adaptation will play a pivotal role in supporting the building of an Adaptation Consortium and hosting an Adaptation Convening of diverse stakeholders in the ecosystem. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to shaping the conversation and action on climate adaptation in India.
The Program Associate will report to Lead - Sector Catalyst Strategy.
Responsibilities:
Adaptation Collaborative Development:
• Identify and engage potential consortium members, including government agencies, NGOs, research institutions, and private sector actors.
• Facilitate discussions and workshops to define the consortium's mission, goals, and activities.
• Support the launch and ongoing operations of the consortium. Develop and manage communication materials for any convening/dialogues held including presentations, website content, and social media posts.
• Assist in any related event design and ideation and facilitate discussions and workshops as and when they are planned along with necessary logistics.
• Capture key takeaways and outcomes from the convening and follow up on key outcomes and responsibilities.
Research and Knowledge Management:
• Stay up-to-date on the latest developments and best practices in climate adaptation globally and within the Indian context.
• Conduct research and prepare briefing materials on relevant topics related to adaptation.
• Contribute to the development of knowledge products, such as reports and toolkits, to support the consortium's work
• Work with a diverse group of stakeholders on adaptation
Requirements:
• A master’s degree in environmental and sustainability management, climate change, public policy, urban planning, or related field with 5+ years of relevant work experience in Programme management, strategy management, climate consulting and/or policy research.
• Interest in and strong understanding of climate change adaptation issues, challenges in India and the non-profit sector.
• Effective communication skills (both written and verbal). Demonstrated experience in high-quality working on deliverables and outputs like detailed reports, strategic presentations and excel sheets.
• Strong interpersonal skills and experience managing external stakeholders.
• Ability to process information from multiple sources, and compile and articulate it in a presentable manner.
• A keen eye for detail and thorough reviewer.
• Ability to think strategically and creatively, meet tight deadlines, and work independently.
• Excellent at multitasking and project management skills with an ability to manage competing deadlines. Highly organized and can manage large volumes of work efficiently.
• Solutions oriented and self-started. Resourceful and adaptive in thinking.
