Climate Power has an immediate opening for an Advisor and Director, Strategic Partnerships, to run engagement with Climate Power’s National Advisory Board and help develop and implement Climate Power’s partnerships and political and campaign strategy. 
 
Climate Power is an independent strategic communications and paid media operation focused on building the political will and public support for bold climate action. Founded by the Center for American Progress Action Fund, League of Conservation Voters, and Sierra Club, Climate Power integrates hard-hitting research, polling, state and national earned media, digital and paid media to influence the national conversation, embolden leaders to take immediate, bold climate action, and expose climate deniers and their oil and gas lobby allies.

Responsibilities

    • Lead Climate Power’s engagement with its National Advisory Board members; managing requests to and from board members, all meetings and agendas, and other tasks. 
    • Work with the Managing Director, Campaigns and Politics to develop and implement Climate Power’s political and campaign strategies, including building new organizational relationships and managing and growing partnerships nationally and in key states.
    • Coordinate with Climate Power’s digital and communications teams to drive outreach to key influencers online and build new partnerships with surrogates for key press outreach. 
    • Coordinate with Climate Power’s Creative Council liaison to ensure uniform guidance and messaging is being relayed to Council members
    • Work across the Campaigns and Political unit to facilitate partner engagement and to disseminate our messaging, research, digital content, and videos at the national level.
    • Collaborate with colleagues and lead special projects as assigned.

Requirements & Qualifications

    • At least five years of political experience, including issue advocacy and/or electoral experience.
    • Experience leading work with partners and allied organizations and coalitions. across the progressive community; experience working with climate and environmental groups required. 
    • Experience working with high profile stakeholders, including managing meetings and agendas, and owning day-to-day interactions.
    • Ability to build consensus and resolve conflicts.
    • Excellent communications and presentation skills.
    • Strong strategic campaign and writing skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced campaign environment with unpredictable hours in high-pressure situations.
This full time exempt position reports to Climate Power’s Managing Director, Campaigns and Politics.

Pay for this position is commensurate with experience and responsibilities. The salary range for this position starts at $116,000. We offer a comprehensive benefit package including medical, dental, vision insurance, 401(k) plan, and generous paid time off.
