Overview of Role

We are looking for a Director of Financial Operations to manage Climb’s financial operations, audit and cash flows. You will work closely with the Finance, Operations and Management teams, and your contributions will directly influence Climb’s strategy and expansion and you will have an opportunity to join a fast-growing company and to take on new challenges as we expand. 

Your Background and Skills:

    • 3-5 years of accounting experience at either atop tier auditor or financial services company
    • CPA or applicable experience 
    • Understanding of lending, fixed income and credit
    • Strong knowledge of GAAP, especially as it relates to loan origination and structured finance 
    • Ability to integrate data into accounting models
    • Understanding of tax and tax incentives and credits
    • Familiarity with accounting and legal treatment of special purpose vehicles
    • Advanced Excel skills
    • Demonstrated superior analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Demonstrated interpersonal and client relationships skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
    • Ability to work in a very fast-paced and fluid small-team environment at a growing company
    • Professional, detail-oriented, and energetic personality
    • The ideal candidate will have a team-first mindset,is excited to join a fast-growing startup and is inclined toward taking action and initiative 

As part of the Finance team, you will:

    • Manage Climb’s internal accounting, including systems, processes, controls, and policies and supervise the annual audit
    • Develop accounting policies and controls for Climb’s loan transactions, including whole loan sales and warehouse lines
    • Develop accounting policies and controls for Climb’s loan origination and servicing business 
    • Control company cash flows and liquidity, including Climb’s loan sales and financing transactions
    • Support financial planning and analysis with analytics to support investment decisions
    • Support the reporting requirements related to various equity and debt stakeholders 
    • Handle all tax filings and related reporting
    • Perform role of calculation agent for various counterparties
    • Utilize tech resources and tools for more efficient bookkeeping
    • Report on Climb performance vs budget
    • Forecast cash flows and capital needs for continuing operations and new initiatives
    • Generate analysis and presentation materials
