About Us
CNC milling machines are the heart of the manufacturing industry. Few people have ever seen or heard of them, and yet they produce more than $100Bn worth of components every year, serving every manufacturing vertical. CNC milling machine in action:

Despite this, the software that is used to control them remains in the dark ages, requiring hours to days of manual instruction by a highly skilled machinist before a component can be produced.

Full automation of CNC milling would represent one of the most disruptive innovations ever seen in manufacturing, slashing the cost of metal components by multiples globally, and it is exactly this innovation that CloudNC is developing.

We will rapidly immerse you in both the old-school and the cutting-edge of the manufacturing world, and so you should be intellectually curious and deeply interested in new technologies. You will learn to operate and have constant access to industrial CNC machinery.

Since founded in October 2015 we have raised multiple rounds of venture capital funding from some of the most respected investors in the world, and have received two government grants. Our Series A investment round of £9 Million was led by Atomico.

Our office headcount is 21, and we expect to more than double in size over the coming 12 months.

In the future, manufacturing will be fully automated, with fully flexible and autonomous factories passing components through automatic supply chains. Products will go from 3D files to final assembly with zero human interaction. It is this vision that CloudNC is working towards.

What our developers say
We are changing an industry through research and science. We are not a start-up that is 'doing something better' or improving on what exists in the market, we are working in an area that doesn't have a solution yet at all.

We take quality code very seriously. We work in small intelligent teams. Our research developers read academic papers. We have developer freedom, meaning we have a common goal, but how we get there is down to the developer.

We have excellent hardware and access to technology. We have autonomy, with flexible hours and your day(s) are your own to go off and wrestle with a problem.
