Clubhouse is a new type of social product based on voice. It allows people everywhere to talk, tell stories, develop ideas, deepen friendships, and meet interesting new people around the world.

Our early users love the product and we have been featured in publications like The New York Times, Forbes, The Telegraph, TechCrunch, CNBC, and WIRED. Today, we are a small and productive team with a strong background in consumer products. We are well funded, with recent backing from top-tier VCs and many of the best angel investors from Silicon Valley and beyond.

The Role

As a member of the editorial team, you’ll work with leadership across our functions in marketing, programming, comms, and product to tell can’t-miss stories about Clubhouse and our community on our social channels (currently Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn). During the pandemic, we are working remotely. This role will be open to both local and US-based, remote candidates. We will have an office in San Francisco when we are able to safely reopen our office for those who prefer to work in person.  

Who you are

You are wildly creative across a range of media. Your written voice is sharp, and your eye for great design and photography no less so. You are constantly reinventing and innovating new storytelling formats. Everything you watch, see, or listen to in the world seems to spark a fresh idea. 

You love to be in dialogue with the community. Where some might turn their nose up at community management, you relish it. No matter how senior you may be, you love to respond to comments, fire off a Tweet at random hours, and personally respond to DMs. You draw your energy and inspiration from our followers and you recharge by spending time in our community. 

You bias towards action. You like to see your work out in the world, not stuck in decks. You favor practical choices, speed and a respect for sequencing. You focus on the things that matter and push back on things that don’t. You make deadlines for yourself and you move fast.

You’re scrappy and entrepreneurial. You thrive in fast-paced environments and are comfortable with not knowing the answer to something. You are willing to roll up your sleeves no matter what the challenge is.

You take pride in what you do. You care deeply about your work and you believe in the power of social media. You understand both innately and from experience the power and responsibility that comes from running a handle with hundreds of thousands of followers and you make the growth and success of those channels a personal mission.

What you will do

You’ll create and post social content. As part of the Clubhouse team, you will move fast and get your hands dirty. You may find yourself designing posts yourself while you simultaneously develop a social strategy for a major product feature. You’ll help to curate the most interesting moments on Clubhouse and push them out through social in real time, while also identifying and planning for larger stories around our content and creators. 

You’ll grow and improve rapidly. At Clubhouse you’ll be working with an incredible team, who love to learn from and teach each other. You’ll find yourself stretching to new areas, immersed in feedback, challenged by your teammates, and growing your skills on a daily basis.

You’ll shape the brand. We are building our brand identity every day, and your work will be a part of that construction. Your ideas will always be heard, and you’ll have meaningful input into the evolution of our high-level voice and personality, on social and at large.

When the telephone was invented, it suddenly allowed people to speak with others across the world. Thanks to FaceTime, grandparents everywhere can now watch their grandchildren grow up.
