The Role:
 
CMG is searching for a Chief People Officer.  You will be responsible for enhancing CMG’s people function, culture, structure and policies.  You will drive key Human Resources (HR) best practices and initiatives and provide strategic direction and expertise for the full scope of the HR function in ways that support CMG’s mission and overall strategy. CMG is working on a vision to be a top employer that values diversity and inclusion, and we need a collaborative business partner who can bring that vision to life.  This position has high accountability and reports directly to the CEO. The ideal candidate is a leader, strategic thinker, effective people manager and problem-solver. You will work alongside our industry expert founders and a team of high performing individuals as a strategic HR business partner to ensure the long-term success of both HR and the organization. The ideal candidate will have a sense of ownership regarding the people, their experiences, and the culture that we collectively will create. The candidate should also have a sense of pride in his/her performance and its impact on the Company’s success. 

Responsibilities: 
 
• Work with senior management to ensure a culture that reflects the values of the Company and develop a recruiting strategy to support the Company’s mission
• Champion a collaborative organizational culture that focuses on building a high performing, high-trust, and inclusive environment
• Deliver HR plans and initiatives across the Company (recruitment, talent management, learning & development, compensation & benefits, employee relations, etc.)
• Oversee performance management and dynamic goal management within the Company
• Decide and act on initiatives for equal opportunity, diversity, inclusion, etc. 
• Be a sounding board for the CEO and provide counsel and advice as appropriate
• Develop relationships with CMG employees and become someone who is sought for advice and counsel on HR, cultural, and organizational issues
• Facilitate integration of diverse workgroups, cultures, and newly acquired assets
• Establish processes to ensure efficiency and connectivity of distributed and remote workforce
• Drive employer branding and recruitment marketing strategies 
• Ensure all procedures comply with legal regulations and best HR practices 
• Analyze the effectiveness of HR practices and policies
• Periodically review competitiveness of Company’s compensation and benefit plans 
• Prepare reports and dashboards for the CEO using business metrics and KPIs 

Must-Have:  
 
• Proven experience as Chief People Officer, VP of HR or another senior HR role
• Experience in strategic planning and implementation
• Deep knowledge of HR functions (talent management, compensation, recruitment etc.)
• Ability to use metrics and analytics
• Knowledge of employment law and its application
• Working knowledge of MS Office
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Experience with HR tools and recruiting software (i.e. Insperity, Bamboo, Lever, etc.)
• Well-organized with excellent leadership qualities 
 
Nice-to-Have:  
 
• Previous work at a startup
• Fintech industry experience
• Senior Professional in Human Resources Certification (SPHR) 
• BA in business, HR, social sciences, or related field; MA in HR, social sciences, or MBA
