As a Product Manager focused on Coates’ proprietary Digital Signage Content Management System (CMS) and ecosystem, you will be responsible for the following in your Product domain:
- Serving as the voice of our Customers
- Owning and driving the Product strategy in collaboration with stakeholders
- Creating, prioritizing, and driving the Product roadmap and backlog
- Influencing standardization across markets and clients
The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic, passionate, technically savvy, self-starting, and people-oriented leader well-versed in Product Management, Product Development, process improvement, and change management. The candidate must be capable of developing positive relationships with the internal Product, Engineering, Delivery, and Account/Market business unit organizations at all levels, as well as with our clients to facilitate cooperation and a well-coordinated approach to bringing our products to life with some of the largest companies in the world.
Coates’ Product solutions include our proprietary Content Management System, Switchboard, as well as digital signage and menu boards, self-order kiosks, interactive displays, and variety of other applications. There is a large focus on innovation and the integration of technology in our space. As a key partner to our global team of Engineers, this role requires a level of strong technical aptitude. It would be a bonus for the candidate to have experience in digital signage, SaaS applications, or a similar industry.
Responsibilities
- Foster a Product, strategic, ‘Customer first’ mindset and collaborate across multiple teams and geographies
- Gain a detailed understanding of the company’s existing Product suite and become a subject matter expert
- Collect inputs to inform Product strategy (clients, markets, innovation, engineering, marketplace)
- Ensure the Customer voice is heard and incorporated into all strategy development processes, while prioritizing the goals of the company
- Drive alignment on Product strategy, roadmap, and priorities with Engineering, Delivery, Business Units, and Sr. Leadership team
- Partner with clients and internal stakeholders to interpret Product requests and translate into features and user stories
- Author user stories and take ownership of related requirements documentation
- Partner with Engineering and Delivery teams to design, engineer, and plan, build requests and to align work sequencing and delivery plans with the Product roadmap
- Contribute to Product development, research and idea generation and support relevant project work with the wider teams on prototyping and scaled manufacturing
- Ensure “Product Readiness,” effectively driving alignment with Engineering, Delivery and Support teams to plan for the right pieces to be in-place for the product to be successful in production
- Monitor ongoing performance/utilization of Products in-market
- Capture and maintain the necessary data to facilitate informed decisions relating to capacity utilization, prioritization, sequencing, and planning
- Engage in market-based research
- Assess value & viability of requests coming from our markets and clients
- Transform customer insights and requests into full Product experiences which increase customer satisfaction, loyalty, retention, and business value
- Identify opportunities for improving or creating new digital experience solutions
- Build & maintain relationships with Customers to influence their roadmaps and strategy, in partnership with Account/BU team
- Engage with Innovation team to co-define longer-horizon product evolution and revolution
- Support Account Management teams for key customers on new initiatives and to drive alignment across integrated roadmaps
- Support Engagement Leads and Account Managers as Product subject matter expert (SME) in deeper client/market conversations about features, capabilities, requests, requirements, etc.
- Support RFP, Pitches, & Demos as Product SME
Skills & Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience as a Product Manager of digital systems or applications or related experience. Experience working with Content Management Systems, Digital Signage or Retail/Restaurant technology is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or Engineering – advanced degree preferred
- Demonstrated success defining and launching products that meet customer needs through effective customer discovery
- Experience managing a development partner or relevant Product Development activities
- Self-starter; driven and able to act autonomously
- Reliable partner, proven history of building and maintaining relationships internally and externally – strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- Comfortable interacting and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
- Proactive and analytical approach
- Ability to work both tactically and strategically
- Strength in influencing decision-making with or without authority and bringing teams to agreement
- Strong team player who embraces listening, straight talk, transparency, ownership, and accountability
