Senior Strategist, Org & Culture

New York, NY
CO:COLLECTIVE – Strategy /
Full-time /
co:collective is a creative and strategic transformation partner for purpose-led businesses. We’re led by our deep belief that today's most successful organizations must have an underlying purpose, one that is so central to their identity it influences everything they do, from how they show up in the world to how they organize internally.

At co: we help our clients define that purpose and then help them enact it in a variety of ways across the customer experience -- brand identity, products (digital and physical), services, experiences and content -- as well as inside the organization, to transform who they are, how they act, and how they show up in the world.

We strive to be embedded in our clients’ businesses. We do not wait for our clients to come to us with problems or challenges to turn into creative briefs. We are constantly working with clients to identify challenges and opportunities - and working with them to take action.

The co: community is deeply committed to continuing to build a diverse and inclusive workplace for all to thrive. We value and honor those with different backgrounds, unique perspectives, and believe that inclusive organizations build better teams and produce better work. We are a people-centered business that creates safe spaces, leads by example, and seeks to make a positive impact on the world.

The role

We’re looking for a Senior Strategist to join our growing organization + culture design team. In this role you will work closely with practice leadership on org + culture initiatives across various industries including tech, biotech, CPG, healthcare, and more.

Who you are

You are an innately curious Strategist with an itch to be a part of a unique team of dynamic innovators.

You’re a leader who strives to solve complex problems across different categories, and operate as an advisor to c-suite clients.

You’re a strategic thinker who has experience in organization development, organizational design, culture design or transformation, or talent and people strategy.

You’re someone with a passion for doing good in the world and have a desire to make a positive impact.

What you'll do

Work alongside fellow strategists and members of our creative and client engagement team. You’ll help our clients solve a wide variety of organization + culture design problems, ranging from purpose design to team design to building innovation capabilities and driving cultural change. Though no two projects are the same, you can expect to:

Develop insights: You'll be responsible for gathering all the relevant inputs and synthesizing them to inform our strategy process. This may include the design and execution of quantitative or ethnographic research, client interviews and working sessions, desk research online and using commercial data resources, in-field observation, leading focus groups and customer interviews, expert interviews, or defining how to crunch quantitative data into market forecasts and business models.

Facilitate dialogue and design: A big part of what we do is turn insights into conversations that drive change in organizations. You’ll help senior clients align on their purpose, explore and align on the principles that matter most to them, and help them understand how to remove barriers in their organizations and teams. You’ll have to be an excellent listener and communicator, guiding senior clients through challenging conversations and driving action.

Design solutions & interventions: You’ll advise our clients on how to make bold decisions with their purpose in mind, by investing in their employee and customer experiences, aligning their organization + culture against their strategy and purpose.

Support new business development: You will help identify, target and develop opportunities that could lead to new project assignments for co:collective. Key activities will include research, sourcing, and coordination of strategy presentations. You’ll also contribute to proposal development.

What you've done
- 5+ years experience in relevant industries or environments, such as strategy or innovation consulting, organizational development, change leadership, people and talent strategy and/or organizational psychology, (consultant or client-side).
- Developed a strong knowledge of organizational development principles, methodologies, and best practices and approaches.
- Demonstrated the ability to synthesize large quantities of data (both qual and quant) to highlight actionable insights and resulting recommendations.
- Rolled up your sleeves and worked collaboratively with cross-functional teams; experience partnering with creatives is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to lead strategic thinking for a company, write proposals, and work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Developed excellent communication skills.
- Grown existing business and actively contributed to new business pitches.
- Experience coaching a plus
