Strategist, Brand & Business

co:collective is a creative and strategic transformation partner for purpose-led businesses. We’re led by our deep belief that today's most successful organizations must have an underlying purpose, one that is so central to their identity it influences everything they do, from how they show up in the world to how they organize internally.

At co: we help our clients define that purpose and then help them enact it in a variety of ways across the customer experience -- brand identity, products (digital and physical), services, experiences and content -- as well as inside the organization, to transform who they are, how they act, and how they show up in the world.

We strive to be embedded in our clients’ businesses. We do not wait for our clients to come to us with problems or challenges to turn into creative briefs. We are constantly working with clients to identify challenges and opportunities - and working with them to take action.

The co: community is deeply committed to continuing to build a diverse and inclusive workplace for all to thrive. We value and honor those with different backgrounds, unique perspectives, and believe that inclusive organizations build better teams and produce better work. We are a people-centered business that creates safe spaces, leads by example, and seeks to make a positive impact on the world.

The role
We’re looking for a Strategist to join our growing brand and business team. In this role you will work across multiple disciplines of strategy (e.g. brand, business, innovation), across various industries including tech, biotech, CPG, healthcare, and more.

Who you are
- You are an innately curious Strategist with an itch to be a part of a unique team of dynamic innovators.
- You’re a leader who strives to solve complex problems across different categories, and operate as an advisor to c-suite clients.
- You’re a strategic thinker who has experience in at least 2-3 areas of strategy, such as: business strategy, brand strategy and architecture, design strategy, product or service design, creative tech, content or communications.
- You’re someone with a passion for doing good in the world and have a desire to make a positive impact.

What you’ll do
Work alongside fellow strategists and members of our creative and client engagement team. You’ll help our clients solve a wide variety of business problems, ranging from brand strategy, to audience definition, to product innovation and business transformation. Though no two projects are the same, you can expect to:

Develop insights: You'll be responsible for gathering all the relevant inputs and synthesizing them to inform our strategy process. This may include the design and execution of quantitative or ethnographic research, client interviews and working sessions, desk research online and using commercial data resources, in-field observation, leading focus groups and customer interviews, expert interviews, or defining how to crunch quantitative data into market forecast and business models.

Craft stories: Using our StoryDoing approach, you’ll work to develop and sell the core purpose and story that will shape the future of the brand you work on. You’ll advise our clients on how to make bold business decisions with their purpose in mind, by inventing, developing, and selling in the innovations, business models, products, and experiences that make those stories real in the world.

Pitch in new business: You will help identify, target and develop opportunities that could lead to new project assignments for co:collective. Key activities will include research, sourcing, and coordination of strategy presentations.

What you’ve done
- 2-3 years experience in relevant industries or environments, such as strategy or innovation consulting, product development, experiential marketing, (consultant or client-side).
- Developed a strong knowledge of user-centered design principles, methodologies, and best practices and approaches.
- Demonstrated the ability to synthesize large quantities of data (both qual and quant) to highlight actionable insights and resulting recommendations.
- Rolled up your sleeves and worked collaboratively with teams to get the job done.
- Demonstrated ability to lead strategic thinking for a company or brand, write proposals, and work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Developed excellent communication skills.
- Grown existing business and actively led new business pitches.

What else?
With great work comes great reward. We are a community of brilliant, ambitious, creative people committed to creating an ever evolving progressive work environment. In addition to a salary commensurate with your experience, our perks include unlimited vacation, performance-based bonuses, a generous parental leave policy, a sabbatical, and much more.

Future of Work
co:collective has adopted a hybrid working model. Our office is open and accessible for those who wish to use the space and collaborate in person, but there are no mandatory set days in the office.

We have put the power in the hands of our project teams, asking them to assess what key in-person client and internal meetings are necessary for the health of the project and our people.

You do not need to live in NYC to work at co:. All we ask is that you are comfortable coming to New York a few times a year for select in person moments.

Our office is located at 419 Park Avenue South, 5th Floor, New York NY 10016
