Podcast Editorial Intern (Masters Degree Student)

New York, NY /
Podcast Editorial Intern (Graduate):
Fully Remote

Who we are:
co:collective is a creative and strategic transformation partner for purpose-led businesses. We’re led by our deep belief that today's most successful organizations must have an underlying purpose, one that is so central to their identity it influences everything they do, from how they show up in the world to how they organize internally.

At co: we help our clients define that purpose and then help them enact it in a variety of ways across the customer experience -- brand identity, products (digital and physical), services, experiences and content -- to transform who they are, how they act, and how they show up in the world.

We strive to be embedded in our clients’ businesses. We do not wait for our clients to come to us with problems or challenges to turn into creative briefs. We are constantly working with clients to identify challenges and opportunities - and working with them to take action.

The co: community is deeply committed to continuing to build a diverse and inclusive workplace for all to thrive. We value and honor those with different backgrounds, unique perspectives, and believe that inclusive organizations build better teams and produce better work. We are a people-centered business that creates safe spaces, leads by example, and seeks to make a positive impact on the world.

The role:
We are developing a podcast that explores purpose-washing: the gap between what companies say, and what they actually do. We are looking for a podcast development intern who can aid in the development of the first season. This person will be intimately involved in all aspects of podcast creation from episode creation to production and marketing. This is an opportunity to be part of the development of a new podcast from pilot episode to full series.

This is a paid, part time position that will average around 15 hrs/week and report directly into our Head of Growth.

Who you are:
You have a solid grounding in best in class journalism practices, an interest in research, and a passion for storytelling. Extra bonus points for an interest in business storytelling and helping companies become a force for good in the world. You are innately curious, detail oriented, and have excellent written skills. You are also an enthusiastic learner with an ability to work independently and within a small team. We would love some journalism or writing experience, but we do not require experience with podcast production.

What you’ll do:
Episodic development - Each episode explores a different business and you will be responsible for researching that business to help tell the story of how they do or do not live up to their mission. You will conduct background research around the selected topic of each specific episode, prepare briefs on episode topics, and look for fresh angles to inform the episode's narrative structure.

Episodic management - you’ll research notable guests and experts in their fields related to each episode topic to compile a list of potential guests. You will also contact and book guests, and develop interview questions for guests based on each episode topic.

Episodic production - You’ll help with the production of the episode in partnership with the production team, review interview transcripts and recordings, and assist in editing for narrative flow.

What else?
With great work, comes great reward. We are a community of brilliant, ambitious, creative people committed to creating an ever evolving progressive work environment. Our team is working remote for 2021, but typically our team operates out of our Park Avenue office in NYC. We are in the process of developing a hybrid working model for when the world is safe to return to in person collaboration.
