Senior Client Engagement Director (Business Lead)

co:collective is a creative and strategic transformation partner for purpose-led businesses. We’re led by our deep belief that today's most successful organizations must have an underlying purpose, one that is so central to their identity it influences everything they do, from how they show up in the world to how they organize internally.

At co: we help our clients define that purpose and then help them enact it in a variety of ways across the customer experience -- brand identity, products (digital and physical), services, experiences and content -- to transform who they are, how they act, and how they show up in the world.

We strive to be embedded in our clients’ businesses. We do not wait for our clients to come to us with problems or challenges to turn into creative briefs. We are constantly working with clients to identify challenges and opportunities - and working with them to take action.

The co: community is deeply committed to continuing to build a diverse and inclusive workplace for all to thrive. We value and honor those with different backgrounds, unique perspectives, and believe that inclusive organizations build better teams and produce better work. We are a people-centered business that creates safe spaces, leads by example, and seeks to make a positive impact on the world.

The role
co: is in search of our next Senior Client Engagement Director, a strategic business leader with a track record of strong relationships, successful engagements and a growth mindset, to lead creative and strategic business transformation projects and architect sustainable growth for the company.

Who you are
You’re a proven leader who excels at developing, growing and sustaining relationships with senior, cross-functional teams at multi-faceted global companies.

You think strategically, can and want to contribute to the ‘doing’ of the work (not just the ‘directing’) and you thrive on developing sound and compelling strategies that lead to inspired outputs.

You’re business-minded - you understand how to scope and set up an engagement, and how to manage that engagement in a way that is healthy for our clients, our teams, and our business.

You’re a trusted advisor - you listen well, look for opportunities to help, and both broaden and deepen our relationships by expanding our influence. You understand our practices and offerings, can communicate how they work together effectively, and know when to introduce other senior leaders in the company to facilitate new engagements.

What you'll do
co: is a small but mighty place, so we wear a lot of hats. Below are some things you’ll be expected to do:

- Proactively own the engagements you lead – day-to-day and long-term
- Demonstrate leadership with an ability to manage cross functional teams, rallying the team to see the end destination, course correcting where necessary and contributing to shape the output with design and strategy teams
- Ignite innovative conversations and ideas by challenging the status-quo and sharing unique perspectives to help create space for ideation and development
- Invent a better way forward, constantly challenging ourselves to work smarter, better, and happier
- Lead the development and presentation of work to senior stakeholders
- Gracefully and fairly resolve conflicts with clients and internal stakeholders
- Identify and manifest organic growth opportunities
- Apply cross-functional learnings based on project learnings across the collective
- Ensure milestones are met, and projects are healthy
- Liaise closely with Heads of Departments and Partners on challenges and opportunities
- Build solid relationships and motivate both internal and client teams

What you've done
- You have 6-10 years of business, engagement and strategy experience within the brand strategy, marketing, innovation, and/or consulting industries. Bonus points for technology experience.
- You’ve independently led dynamic projects, client relationships and cross functional teams - delivering against all odds, proving your innate entrepreneurial and problem-solving abilities.
- You are a client whisperer and have managed at all levels, notably SVP+. The boundaries between client / friend / sounding board are always a bit blurred.
- You’re highly skilled at conveying complex ideas, so you’ve presented to senior level stakeholders and excel at all methods of written and verbal communications, and have compelling presentation abilities.
- You’ve launched brands and/or 360 experiences for multiple clients.
- You’ve managed and mentored team members, creating clear roles and growth opportunities because you define your team’s growth as a priority in your own growth plan.
- You have extensive integrated production knowledge and experience working on simultaneous work streams.
- You’ve worked with a producer to produce best in class work across a wide variety of channels.
- You’ve partnered with media agencies or internal media teams on creative asset delivery.

What else?
With great work, comes great reward. We are a community of brilliant, ambitious, creative people committed to creating an ever evolving progressive work environment. In addition to a salary commensurate with your experience, our perks include unlimited vacation, performance-based bonuses, a generous parental leave policy, a sabbatical, and much more.

Future of Work
co:collective has adopted a hybrid working model. Our office is open and accessible for those who wish to use the space and collaborate in person, but there are no mandatory set days in the office.

We have put the power in the hands of our project teams, asking them to assess what key in-person client and internal meetings are necessary for the health of the project and our people.

You do not need to live in NYC to work at co:. All we ask is that you are comfortable coming to New York a few times a year for select in person moments.

Our office is located at 419 Park Avenue South, 5th Floor, New York NY 10016
