The Product team is the team responsible for developing Cognite Data Fusion as a robust and scalable platform for solving industrial data problems at Cognite. Cognite’s Cognite Data Fusion makes the operational data available at scale and adds value to the data through data processing. This enables asset-intensive industries to make data-driven decisions. Our platform is built on various technologies, each good at solving various challenges.

To build the best possible product, we believe in autonomous teams with developers, product managers and technical program managers working closely together. You will work with a team of highly skilled engineers and a critical Cognite service centered on authentication and authorization. We use the latest technologies and work closely with end users to iterate quickly towards better product experiences.

This position is a hybrid role working from the Oslo office. 

The Turbofish Team represents the first line of defense in maintaining a secure ecosystem for privileged customer data. The work we do is critical for the success of our customers, and the company at large, and exists in the dynamic intersection of security, infrastructure, and feature development. The developers on our team have daily opportunities to work on creative technical challenges and to engage with some of Cognite’s most impactful and interesting business challenges. 

A typical day as a Cogniter will contain the following tasks & responsibilities

    • Join a Cognite development team as an engineer, owning development and support for authentication, authorization and IAM services for Cognite Data Fusion
    • Develop enhancement requests that address needs around identity/access management and auditing
    • Collaborate in a fast-paced environment involving different stakeholders and subject matter experts
    • Be actively involved in setting product and technical direction
    • Monitoring and alerting to track the performance and health of authorization services in all clusters
    • Maintain up-to-date documentation, including FAQs, troubleshooting guides and best practices documents.
    • Manage CVEs, defects and technical debt

We believe most of these should match you and your experience

    • Experience with and passion for authorization, authentication and security
    • You have at least 5 years of software engineering experience in one or more programming languages such as Rust, Kotlin, C# or Python.
    • You can prioritize your tasks and distribute your time and resources most efficiently to optimize for impact.
    • You write well-structured, efficient, and maintainable code and actively keep the quality and health of the codebase in check.
    • Experience with large Cloud deployments on any of AWS, GCP, or Azure; build, test, deploy, and monitor software in a multi-cloud Kubernetes environment.
    • You have the ability to learn other coding languages and use the language best fit for purpose.
    • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills; ability to track down information in logs, traces, and metrics and take appropriate action based on findings
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
