BD Leader of Cross-boarder Payment (HK)

Responsibilities

    • Business Development & Client Acquisition
    • Develop and execute client acquisition strategies in line with company goals and business objectives.
    • Focus on key industries such as cross-border e-commerce, digital entertainment (gaming, live streaming, social apps), B2B trade, international logistics, and education payments.
    • Independently and as a team leader, acquire and manage client relationships to achieve sales KPIs.
    • Identify client pain points across cross-border collection, FX settlement, payout and match them with the company’s product capabilities to drive adoption of end-to-end payment solutions.
    • Industry Solutions & Product Collaboration
    • Deep understanding of the payment ecosystem and business models of target industries to accurately capture client needs.
    • Collaborate closely with product, risk, and operations teams to design and implement customized industry-specific solutions.
    • Assist in optimizing client onboarding and transaction processes to enhance the user experience and maximize customer lifetime value.
    • Client Relationship & Sales Management
    • Manage key client opportunities with ongoing follow-up to increase product adoption and client stickiness.
    • Work with other teams to drive transaction volume and expand product usage.
    • Establish and oversee sales processes and track BD team performance to improve overall conversion efficiency and sales quality.
    • Market Intelligence & Partnership Support
    • Monitor trends in the cross-border payments industry, regulatory developments, and competitive landscape; regularly produce market insight reports.
    • Support the company in expanding partnerships with global banks, payment institutions, and other key ecosystem players.
    • Provide frontline feedback and strategic input to inform product roadmap and market positioning.

Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree or above; majors in Finance, International Trade, Marketing, or related fields preferred.
    • 3–6 years of experience in cross-border payments, FX, acquiring, or related industries; sales experience in card acquiring, cross-border collections, or international clearing is a strong plus.
    • Familiarity with industries’ payment scenarios and mainstream customer demands; existing client resources or industry networks are a plus.
    • Strong business development, negotiation, and project execution capabilities.
    • Team leadership mindset and self-driven; able to lead a team to complete complex sales projects.
    • Excellent communication and coordination skills; able to work cross-functionally to drive business goals efficiently.

Preferred Qualifications

    • Existing client relationships in cross-border e-commerce, gaming/entertainment, SaaS, or payment technology sectors.
    • Familiarity with key markets including Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and North America.
    • Proven experience in independently leading complex cross-border payment projects.
    • Fluent in English; multilingual capabilities are highly desirable.
