Position Overview
At Colibri Group, our mission is simple yet powerful: to lead professionals to achieve more, adapt, and thrive in their careers. We deliver transformative learning experiences to professionals across real estate, accounting, healthcare, financial services, valuation, and teaching—and none of it is possible without an engaged, inspired workforce.
We are seeking a Director of Total Rewards to architect the next generation of compensation, benefits, payroll, and recognition programs at Colibri. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role for a leader who thrives in dynamic, growth-oriented environments and wants the opportunity to build, shape, and modernize a function of work that directly fuels company performance.
What You’ll Do
- Own Colibri’s Total Rewards strategy end-to-end—compensation, benefits, payroll, and recognition—ensuring competitiveness, compliance, and cultural alignment.
- Build scalable and agile rewards models that evolve with business priorities, embed AI, and support Colibri’s growth from $500M to $1B in revenue.
- Advise the Chief People Officer, CEO, and Board on pay equity, executive compensation, and M&A due diligence.
- Champion employee well-being and engagement by connecting rewards, wellness, and recognition in ways that inspire discretionary effort and intent to stay.
- Drive operational excellence across payroll, benefits, and compensation cycles, with automation and accuracy as non-negotiables.
- Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing team, building a culture of clarity, accountability, and innovation.
- Communicate rewards programs with transparency and impact, ensuring employees understand the full value of what they receive.
- Measure relentlessly—tracking ROI of programs, linking outcomes to engagement and retention, and adjusting strategies with agility.
What Great Looks Like
- Strategic + Operational: Able to shift seamlessly between long-term strategy and hands-on execution.
- Data-Driven + Curious: Constantly analyzing market trends, employee insights, and analytics to inform decisions.
- Builder Mindset: Passionate about shaping functions, processes, and teams from the ground up.
- Trusted Advisor: Strong enterprise mindset with the ability to partner across HR, Finance, and business leaders.
- AI-Forward: Enthusiastic about leveraging technology to simplify processes, improve equity, and accelerate outcomes.
Qualifications
- 10–15 years of progressive experience in compensation, benefits, and payroll, with at least 5–7 years in leadership roles.
- Proven success in private equity or high-growth, multi-division organizations.
- Demonstrated experience scaling Total Rewards to support rapid growth and/or M&A activity.
- Strong knowledge of compensation and benefits regulations (FLSA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, PPACA, etc.).
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and analytics; experience with visualization tools such as Power BI.
- Expertise with HCM systems (UKG/Ultimate SaaS strongly preferred).
- Familiarity with AI-powered compensation/pay equity tools (e.g., Syndio, Payscale, Gapsquare).
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Finance, or Accounting required; Master’s degree (MBA or related) preferred.
- Professional certifications such as CCP or CEBS preferred.
- Experience in HR Operations or HRIS implementation/management.
