Position Overview:
The Accreditation/Regulatory Compliance Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring that our institution of higher education maintains the highest standards of academic excellence, regulatory compliance, and institutional effectiveness. Reporting directly to the Senior Accreditation Manager, the Accreditation/Regulatory Compliance Specialist will support accreditation efforts, ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, and promote continuous improvement in all areas of institutional quality. The Accreditation/Regulatory Compliance Specialist plays a pivotal role in supporting the institution's mission and commitment to academic excellence, regulatory compliance, and institutional effectiveness. What You'll Do

    • Makes strategic recommendations for effective withdrawal and new or expanded accreditation or regulatory approvals to ensure the credibility of the lines of business as well as ease of student access for licensure, continuing education, or professional learning and to drive business growth.
    • Supports the strategic expansion of state level Education Preparation Programs to increase the opportunities for growth at Moreland and other higher education programs at Colibri.
    • Assist in coordinating all activities related to institutional accreditation processes, including preparation of accreditation reports, documentation, and site visits.
    • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and administrators across departments to ensure compliance with accreditation standards set forth by relevant accrediting bodies.
    • Monitor changes in accreditation requirements and communicate updates to stakeholders as necessary.
    • Support the Accreditation Manager in maintaining positive relationships with accrediting agencies and participating in accreditation-related meetings and events.
    • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of federal, state, and local regulations governing higher education.
    • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of federal, state, and local regulations governing teacher certification and education preparation providers.
    • Assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure institutional compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and standards.
    • Conduct periodic compliance audits and assessments to identify areas of non-compliance and recommend corrective actions as needed.
    • Serve as a resource for faculty and staff on compliance-related inquiries and provide training as necessary.
    • Support the Accreditation Manager in the design, implementation, and evaluation of institutional effectiveness initiatives.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to establish measurable quality assurance goals and benchmarks.
    • Assist in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to assess institutional performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
    • Participate in the development and implementation of institutional assessment plans and processes.
    • Foster effective communication and collaboration among academic departments, administrative units, and external stakeholders to support accreditation, compliance, and quality assurance efforts.
    • Serve as a liaison between the accreditation team and other institutional stakeholders to ensure alignment of goals and objectives.
    • Prepare reports, presentations, and other materials for senior leadership, accreditation bodies, and regulatory agencies as needed.

What You'll Need to Succeed

    • Bachelor’s degree or higher in relevant field (3+ years of experience in higher education will be considered in lieu of a degree)
    • Previous experience working in accreditation, compliance, or quality assurance within a higher education setting. Experience in teacher education preferred.
    • Knowledge of accreditation standards, regulations, and best practices in higher education, teacher education, and teacher certification.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders.
    • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
    • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
