DIGITAL ORGANIZING MANAGER

Overview:
The Collective is looking for a creative and experienced Digital Organizing Manager to support our various organizations, including our 501c4, PAC and Super PAC. This is an opportunity for a mid to senior level digital strategist to help continue the growth of the nation’s fastest growing black-led political action committee. While we prefer this position to be based in Washington, DC, we’re open to the right candidate living elsewhere. The Digital Organizing Manager’s main duties will include growing our digital presence and building a network of online-based grassroots organizers who will work to support our endorsed candidates and engage black voters. Our Digital Organizing Manager will work with staff and consultants to create cutting edge content for our email, social media, and text message channels.

Primary Responsibilities:

    • Managing our digital organizing plan, accomplishing goals, and building and assisting a team in implementing our:
    • - Digital Organizing Program
    • - Social Media Engagement Program
    • - SMS Program
    • Copywriting and creative content (video, graphic design, etc.) development
    • Write and executing copy for all outbound content platforms (Email, social, SMS, P2P and website)
    • Assist on upkeep of the Collective PAC website and any needed mini-sites 
    • Manage a weekly and monthly content calendar to include email, social and SMS 
    • Assist with email list and social media growth opportunities
    • Support both our endorsed candidates and our organization 
    • Recommend weekly, monthly and quarterly digital advertising creatives for organizing efforts
    • Contribute to creative roll-out strategies for endorsed candidates and major initiatives across all digital channels
    • Maintain relationships with volunteers and volunteer communities on digital channels 

Key Requirements

    • Experience using various digital and organizing tools (NGP/VAN, BSD, Action Network, MobilizeAmerica, MobileCommons, Strive, Hustle, HubDialer, etc.)
    • Excellent written communication skills
    • Ability to coordinate multiple different projects and platforms simultaneously
    • Deep understanding of black politics and black culture
    • Experience developing and administering virtual and in-person training programs
    • Outstanding judgment, discretion and decision-making skills
    • Excellent organizational skills with an ability to think independently and collaboratively while prioritizing daily workload
    • Good sense of humor and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced quickly changing environment

The Collective is a consortium of national organizations (The Collective PAC, The Collective Super PAC, Collective Future & The Collective Education Fund) on an mission to build black political power through candidate recruitment, training potential staff and candidates through The Black Campaign School, funding endorsed candidates, educating black voters and supporting the black civic engagement ecosystem through earned, paid and digital media. To date, The Collective has raised over $10 million from over 57,000 individual contributions in all 50 states to support its mission of ensuring equal representation in elected leadership for African Americans at the local, state and federal level.
