Clinical Lab Accessioner will be responsible for assisting in daily clinical operations, primarily involving the performance of a novel clinical test for the testing of Covid-19 in a high complexity CLIA-certified laboratory.
Personnel will be trained and supervised when performing tasks for which they do not have appropriate licensure, education or qualifications.

Shift 1: Sunday - Thursday 6:00am - 2:00pm
Shift 2: Sunday - Thursday 2:00pm - 10:00pm
Shift 3: Tuesday - Saturday 6:00am - 2:00pm
Shift 4: Tuesday - Saturday, 2:00pm - 10:00pm
Shift 5: Friday - Monday 6:00am - 4:00pm (4 ten hour shifts)
Shift 6: Friday - Monday 4:00pm - 2:00am (4 ten hour shifts)

How You'll Contribute:

    • Specimen transportation, receipt, and accessioning
    • Scan, archive or dispose of documents and records according to company’s procedures
    • Document all corrective actions taken when there is a deviation to the test system
    • Assist in troubleshooting issues as assigned. Escalate issues to supervisors for timely resolution and demonstrate ability to assist in resolving simple issues
    • Complete assigned training; demonstrate competency on trained tasks and attend laboratory meetings
    • Report all potential problems with PHI and/or HIPPA compliance immediately to supervisor
    • Assist in the general upkeep of the laboratory to support daily operations
    • Maintain sufficient inventory of supplies for testing in the laboratory
    • Assist in performing equipment maintenance according to the laboratory’s standard operating procedures
    • Clean workbenches, racks, sample containers and other laboratory supplies
    • Assist in temperature monitoring and responding to temperature alerts as assigned
    • Train new team members on current and new procedures and duties as assigned
    • Accurately document and maintain all records for equipment and instruments
    • Demonstrate understanding of regulatory requirements specific to the assigned work areas
    • Identify and implement process or quality improvement tasks under Supervisor’s guidance
    • May interact with Support, courier services, other departments to obtain or provide required information

    • May perform repetitious actions using lab tools

Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:

    • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in the Life Sciences or related field; OR Associates degree in the Life Sciences or related field and 2 years relevant experience in lieu of Bachelor's degree; OR high school diploma/general education degree and 4 years relevant experience in lieu of Associates degree
    • Basic knowledge in using PC, printer, bar code labels & scanner or document scanner
    • Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word, Google Drive
    • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
    • Ability to learn and follow written procedures
    • Ability to identify issues and troubleshoot or escalate, as necessary
    • Ability to work a designated schedule and adapt to changes in workflow
    • Ability to work weekends as needed
    • Ability to work overtime as needed
    • Ability to comply with any applicable personal protective equipment requirements

Nice to Have:

    • Experience working in a high-throughput environment
    • Experience with laboratory or production work environment
    • Experience maintaining inventory or resources in an organized manner
