Operating in our high-complexity, CLIA-certified, and CAP-accredited laboratories, this position demands independent judgment and a sense of responsibility with minimal supervision.

Under the guidance of the Laboratory Manager, this role executes routine and technically intricate laboratory testing and analysis. Additionally, the incumbent assists the Laboratory General Supervisor and Laboratory Manager in troubleshooting and various quality-related monitoring activities. In the absence of the Laboratory General Supervisor, individuals in this role may assume specific responsibilities and oversee the day-to-day direction and evaluation of other laboratory personnel.

The position may necessitate acting as a clinical laboratory representative and serving as a technical resource for problem-solving, process improvements, and projects related to new product developments. The ideal candidate will showcase a high level of individual responsibility and accountability, coupled with the ability to meet the outlined requirements. Comfortability in a dynamic start-up environment, coupled with the capability to contribute to the implementation of a value-added Quality Management System (QMS) in adherence to local, state, and federal regulations, is essential.

In this role, you will:

    • Execute a diverse range of laboratory tests across all laboratory areas, aligning with licensure requirements.
    • Contribute to laboratory quality control by maintaining accurate records, overseeing instrument calibration and maintenance, and conducting reagent validations as necessary.
    • Operate high-throughput, integrated automation workstations, leveraging in-house LIMS and other infrastructure software during assay performance.
    • Conduct research and development activities to shape future test protocols when required.
    • Actively participate in and represent the clinical laboratory in various cross-functional process improvement projects.
    • Adhere to established laboratory policies and procedures, and contribute to the creation of new laboratory procedures as needed.
    • Demonstrate the ability to identify issues that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of results and take appropriate corrective measures.
    • Document all corrective actions implemented in the event of a deviation in the test system.
    • Assist in instructing non-testing personnel in the principles and techniques of diagnostic tests and examinations.

What we're looking for:

    • Current California Clinical Laboratory Scientist generalist license, with a preference for prior experience in Next-Generation Sequencing laboratory settings.
    • 2+ years of professional experience as a licensed Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
    • Possession of an earned baccalaureate or higher degree with a major in a relevant scientific field.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

What We Offer:
