We are seeking a proactive, collaborative, English and Spanish-speaking Senior Organizer to join the Common Cause team in Colorado.
 
In 2025, Common Cause successfully led an effort to pass the nation’s 8th state-level Voting Rights Act. The Colorado Voting Rights Act protects Colorado from threats to dismantle the federal Voting Rights Act of 1965 and creates stronger protection against voter discrimination. The Colorado Senior Organizer will be critical in driving public education and voter outreach efforts around the new law and executing nonpartisan voter protection efforts in 2026.
 
This is a full-time, fixed-term position for a period of 12 months, from November 15, 2025, to November 15, 2026. The role reports to the State Director and is based in Colorado with a preference for this individual to work out our Denver office at least 1 day per week. They will also travel to communities across the state on a frequent basis, with the possibility of occasional overnight travel.

Responsibilities
 
Grow, diversify, and engage supporters through grassroots organizing
· Represent Common Cause at events, including tabling in the community, and conducting follow up
· Deliver engaging, informative presentations virtually and in person
· Work specifically within our priority counties and cities to identify and expand our local relationships through direct interpersonal engagement, attending events, and conducting 1:1 meetings. 
· Draft materials for public outreach, trainings, and other program tactics, including Spanish-language materials
· Draft plans for and implement engaging, nonpartisan education and outreach activities to expand awareness of our work
· Support the planning and facilitation of coalition meetings and events, present on behalf of Common Cause at coalition meetings and other events

Collaborate with coalition partners to coordinate joint work and advance campaigns
· Draft compelling communications in English and in Spanish for state-level campaigns in collaboration with teammates
· Engage members through digital communications, including social media posts, emails, and short-form video
· Coordinate communications on social media, websites, and email to ensure messaging aligns with our brand and values
· Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers who will take on field shifts across the state during our 2026 election program
· Identify and submit content to priority local media outlets (newspapers, radio stations and podcasts, including Spanish-language media) to share voter information with Colorado communities
· Collaborate with other state staff to coordinate and manage projects and tasks within the election protection program
 
Support our research, policy and advocacy work 
· Track outreach and engagement efforts and compile data and meeting notes to provide reports and information to the team
· Support research and advocacy efforts on the Colorado Voting Rights Act
· Incorporate Common Cause’s data findings, such as the disparity between voter participation for white and Latino voters in Weld County, into education materials and community conversations.

Support additional priorities of the Colorado office, including projects, fundraising, and events
· Support the State Director and other staff in fundraising efforts, including grant support, reporting for foundations and major donors, and the planning and execution of fundraising events such as Champions for Democracy and Colorado Gives Day
· Complete administrative tasks as needed
· Perform other duties as assigned

The following is required:

    • Bilingual in Spanish and English, with the ability to create educational campaign materials, conduct outreach, and engage community members effectively in both languages
    • Demonstrated interest in and ability to conduct direct engagement work, including one-on-one meetings, tabling at events, calling supporters over the phone, and maintaining and tracking relationships
    • Demonstrate interest in voter education and/or public interest campaigns and mobilization efforts
    • Willing to have a social media presence on behalf of Common Cause, including being tagged on posts and creating content on behalf of the organization (as needed, Common Cause may provide accounts for staff members to use)
    • Ability to work in-person up to 3-4 days per week during the election period (at our Denver office and/or other locations), and to work evenings and weekends as needed
    • Ability to travel 2-5 days per month within Colorado, and 1-2 times per year in the US for team and/or all staff retreats
    • Per our nonpartisan policy, Common Cause staff members may not currently be in elected office (or running for office); on the Steering Committee or Finance Committee for any political candidate; or affiliated with the leadership of a political party

    • This position is included in a union-represented collective bargaining unit and specific employment terms and conditions are subject to collective bargaining negotiations
    • Common Cause is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time; please note that if hired, you will be asked to produce documentation for authorization to work in the US
$72,100 - $89,610 a year
