In October 2021, we launched our new ‘Food Club & Opportunity Hub’ to expand efficient, impactful healthy food assistance with the on-site integration of other pathway programs. More recently, we announced a partnership with Dwelling Place to help address the affordable housing crisis here in Holland. In July 2023, we publicly launched our expansion of Lakeshore Food Rescue (www.lakeshorefoodrescue.org).

Position Details
Position Type: Part-time, Regular, 20-24 hours/week

Compensation & Benefits: $19 - $21 hourly

Summary
This role performs a range of Human Resources functions in support of the smooth operation of our team and organization, while contributing to and advancing our culture. The role will perform Recruiting and Onboarding activities through Lever, our Applicant Tracking System (ATS), and support administratively across a variety of other Human Resources tasks in Rippling, our Human Capital Management (HCM) software, and our Google Workspace. This role requires a high-level of technical aptitude with spreadsheets, user account management, generating slide decks, quick reference guides, and project coordination. Additionally, this role requires strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a friendly disposition and the ability to maintain confidentiality. Responsibilities & Essential Duties

Talent Acquisition Responsibilities

    • Ensure a positive experience for all candidates as part of our value Radically Welcoming.
    • Coordinate and execute on the recruiting process. Includes assisting in job description creation, managing the job through our ATS, creating advertisements for job openings, reviewing resumes, conducting phone screens, and coordinating onsite interviews.
    • Partner with the Manager, People & Culture to provide regular communication and updates to hiring managers about candidates and next steps.
    • Assist in strategic recruitment efforts, coordinate and attend career fairs, and build relationships with college & university programs.
    • Coordinate onboarding process. Setup various accounts for new hires, creation and delivery of key and laptop assignments, phone extensions, business cards, name tags, and welcome packages. Drive the overall onboarding process including initial paperwork and notifying candidates not selected.

People & Culture Responsibilities

    • Contribute to our culture of inclusivity as part of our values One Team and Lead with Kindness.
    • Maintain and research various employee perks including semi-annual branded clothing and staff appreciation events. 
    • Assist with administrative duties related to meetings such as New Hire Orientation, staff training opportunities, People Leaders meetings and All Staff meetings, and offsite employee appreciation events.
    • Serve and support internal committees and initiatives which empower our team to put strategy into action, such as our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion efforts as part of our values.
    • Assist with tracking and reporting on employee professional development.
    • Assist with yearly updates and releases of the Employee Handbook as a tool to communicate our culture in support of employee rights, responsibilities, benefits, and processes.
    • Assist with benefits, including annual enrollment including communications and meetings.
    • Administrative support of offboarding employees including deactivating accounts.
    • Assist with tasks in human resource programs including but not limited to Compensation, Benefits, Leaves, Recognition, Occupational Health and Safety, and Talent Development.
    • Attend events as an ambassador for People & Culture internally and externally in support of Community Action House in the community, including event planning and logistics.
    • Maintain confidential information and records in accordance with company policy and privacy laws.

General Responsibilities

    • Support and coordinate smooth day-to-day operations of the People & Culture team.
    • Support and coordinate employee account access and supplies.
    • Support and coordinate vendor communications.
    • Schedule internal and external committee meetings including preparation of information, booking rooms, setting up virtual logins and audiovisual equipment and providing meeting materials.
    • Research, collect and organize information for various reports and initiatives.
    • Other duties as assigned.

Supervision Received

    • Specific Direction: Receives detailed work instructions or guidance for performing repetitive tasks. Supervisor monitors progress and provides feedback or correction as needed to ensure that tasks are completed according to expectations.

Education & Experience

    • No prior experience required ; experience or knowledge in data analysis, human resources, recruiting, business administration or related areas of work is preferred.
    • High School Diploma required; or in place of a degree, equivalent years of experience

Qualifications

    • Human Resources knowledge and experience preferred, or a willingness to learn.
    • Technical proficiency to maintain and create user accounts, automation workflows, worksheets and data management, while harnessing our Google Workspace operating system and suite of applications, Human Capital Management (HCM) software Rippling, and Applicant Tracking Software (ATS) Lever. Experience with these is preferred, or a willingness to learn.
    • Communication proficiency including clear and effective written and verbal communication, and the ability to develop trusting professional relationships. Our primary language is English (required) with bilingual preferred in either Spanish, Khmer, or other languages.
    • A high personal standard of accountability, performance, and integrity, with ability to lead by example to foster a positive workplace culture, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
    • Strong attention to detail and task follow-through.
    • Strong sense of urgency and ability to gain insight into the scope of projects, acting proactively when possible.
    • Willingness and interest in continuous learning and adaptation based on your professional interests and organizational needs.
    • Ability to work effectively in collaboration with a wide variety of people from a wide variety of backgrounds.

Other Factors

    • Access to consistent and reliable transportation. Works onsite at the Food Club & Opportunity Hub location with occasional travel to Resale stores and Community Kitchen.
