In October 2021, we launched our new ‘Food Club & Opportunity Hub’ to expand efficient, impactful healthy food assistance with the on-site integration of other pathway programs. More recently, we announced a partnership with Dwelling Place to help address the affordable housing crisis here in Holland. In July 2023, we publicly launched our expansion of Lakeshore Food Rescue (www.lakeshorefoodrescue.org).

Position Details
Position Type: Full-time, Regular, 30 hours/week
Overtime Status: Non-exempt
Reports To: Director of Food Access Programs
Direct Reports: None
Department: Food Access (Food Club, HEAL)
Primary Location: Food Club & Opportunity Hub
Position Term: This position is grant-funded through September 2026, with potential for evaluation and renewal.
Compensation & Benefits: $20.25 - $21.75 hourly, eligible for full time benefits
Summary
The Food Access Coordinator, HEAL is responsible for successfully coordinating and implementing new food program offerings for Medicaid enrollees. This position will work collaboratively with program leadership and other teams to implement new program processes and policies to provide food and nutrition programming as a part of new state Medicaid benefits. They are responsible for providing direct customer service, maintaining product stock and inventory, driving company vehicles for delivery of food stock, and for timely data entry of relevant information in support of the program and grant responsibilities.
Responsibilities & Essential Duties
- Coordinate and work collaboratively within the Food Club and Guest Services teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to develop processes for In Lieu of Service food programming for Medicaid Enrollees.
- Implement and execute new program components, working closely with Food Club and Guest Services teams.
- Support teams in providing an effective service delivery process for enrollees, from intake to checkout.
- Provide outstanding member service for program enrollees.
- Responsible for accurate and timely data entry and administration of technology systems, including Client Relationship Management (CRM) and Point of Sale (POS) systems.
- Ensure food is properly stored in a timely and food safe manner.
- Plan and package deliveries, at times delivering to program participants using company vehicles.
- Effectively maintain product inventory, stocking and merchandising of program specific products, and proper food handling.
- Identify opportunities and take steps to improve member and volunteer experiences.
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervision Received
- General Direction: Receives broad guidance and direction and has some autonomy in decision-making and flexibility in determining how to achieve goals. Supervisor provides support and resources as needed but may not be directly involved in day-to-day decision-making or task assignments.
Education & Experience
- 1+ years of relevant experience required
- High School Diploma required. Some college preferred.
- Valid driver’s license in good standing
- ServSafe Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Basic conversational Spanish proficiency desired, or Khmer
Qualifications
- Previous customer service experience.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks independently, experience in project management preferred.
- Preferred proficiency in Google Workplace, and familiarity with Inventory, Point of Sale or Client Relationship Management softwares.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret information to support decision making.
