JOB SUMMARY
The S.O.A.R. Immersive Co-Op experience is an opportunity for high school graduating students who want to explore a career in the growing field of aviation maintenance! This is an opportunity to earn income while exploring several manufacturing career paths such as Machining, Non-Destructive Testing, Inspection, Welding, Repair & Assembly, and Industrial Maintenance.

This Co-Op experience will begin June 17th, 2024, and has the potential to transition to a full-time position for those who successfully complete the program.

S.O.A.R. students will spend most of their time working in designated positions throughout the company, that align with their skills and interests. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to shadow experienced technicians while learning about multiple career paths. The program allows positive interaction with other recent high school graduates for a unique learning experience.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Candidates will be responsible for:
1. Attending work each day on time while following all work-related policies and rules.
2. Displaying a positive attitude, ready to learn, and to engage in classroom requirements and work duties. 
3. Demonstrate a commitment to the program by active participation, taking notes, asking questions, and following instructions.
4. Compliance with safety policies and procedures and exercising a continuous safety-first attitude.
 
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Must be a graduating high school senior for the school year ending May 2024.
2. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug, alcohol, and nicotine screening.
3. Recommendation from candidate’s current school, employer, or professional reference.
4. A job description with detailed duties responsibilities will be reviewed with the candidate once a role has been assigned.
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Graduate from a Career Technical Education (CTE) Program with an interest in manufacturing.
 
WORK ENVIRONMENT
1. Follow general shop safety procedures including the occasional use of safety glasses, safety toe shoes, and hearing protection.
2. Work standing and/or seated for extended hours.
3. Move heavy parts (>50 pounds) using hoists, slings, carts, two person lifts, or other handling methods.
4. Move lighter parts (<50 pounds) with or without hoists, slings, carts, or other handling methods.
5. Occasionally use powered and hand-held tools.
