About the team: CEO Stefanos was the global Head of Messenger at Facebook. CTO Yandong was CTO of Strava. Other founding members have experience working for Google, Facebook, Uber and other startups.

We are looking for a full-time software engineer to join our team (global/remote) and work alongside our talented engineers growing our SaaS AI Messaging platform.

You have a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field and are looking to take the next big step in your career. Software engineering is your craft and you take pride in delivering solutions and solving complex problems while making the correct trade-offs to minimize maintenance and enable continued high-paced iteration. You have a solid track record of excellence in your previous work experience and have always looked for opportunities to demonstrate and expand your problem solving abilities beyond the standard requirements. Experience in programming and administering Golang based systems will be necessary, but you can also easily pick up new languages, frameworks and systems. You must be able to work in an international, multi-cultural environment and communicate effectively in English (both written and verbal) as Connectly has a global workforce. You have previously worked with people from different backgrounds and nationalities in previous work experience.

Responsibilities for now and the future

    • Work as part of our multidisciplinary team, starting from scaling/improving our Golang based backend infrastructure. (We have lots of Big Tech and startup experience to help you along your journey and we look forward to learning from you as well)
    • Develop on a modern tech stack built with the latest technologies. (Golang, Python, gRPC, AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform)
    • Gradually own our Infrastructure and Developer Efficiency efforts becoming a tech leader in this part of the company.
    • Build efficient, reusable and testable abstractions and systems.
    • Lead system architecture design decisions and the relevant roadmaps.
    • Draft technical specs/documentation.
    • Mentor engineers and help them realize their potential.

Skills that will come in handy

    • Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
    • 3-8 years of experience in software development.
    • Working experience developing, administering and scaling Go systems and general familiarity with the rest of the Connectly tech stack.
    • A good understanding of ETL pipelines such as Apache Spark.
    • High-level communication skills in English – verbal and written and the ability to work in an international, multi-cultural environment.
    • Working experience with agile methods in software development.
    • Working experience with test-driven development and code quality metrics.
    • Working experience with identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks.
    • Ability to think strategically about what to build and how to ruthlessly prioritize what to build first.
    • Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.
