Responsibilities:

    • Directors are required to take full ownership of the engagement and know when to bring partners/others in. 
    • Should have very strong technical accounting skills across a number of areas and really be looked at as a leader
    • Directors are expected to anticipate client needs, get ahead of issues, and be able to navigate with limited partner oversight
    • As a director, you will interact with clients directly. Not only will you work independently, but you’ll also collaborate with a diverse group of talented professionals. Other responsibilities will include:
    • Lead multiple engagement teams and demands simultaneously.
    • Advising on complex transactions including IPOs/IPO Readiness, M&A, Divestitures, SPACs/Reverse Mergers, and Debt/Equity financings.
    • Ensure that the team understands requirements and scope of the engagement and executes appropriately.
    • Advise on technical accounting solutions supported by US GAAP and/or IFRS while being practical and aiming to exceed expectations of multiple client decision makers.
    • Provide ad hoc accounting advice during the engagement or as requested, research respective accounting literature and write complex technical position papers.
    • Present as a Connor Group executive and build strong professional relationships with key client decision makers and other stakeholders.
    • Coordinate and involve other Connor Group resources / service lines as appropriate
    • Supervise, coach and mentor all levels of staff. Conduct performance reviews and contribute to performance feedback and training. Develop and communicate workplace culture and code of conduct.
    • Monitor performance against estimates and resolve arising issues.
    • Strengthen client relationships and generate additional engagement opportunities through excellent quality, timely execution and strategic approach to service delivery (i.e., One Firm – Passion, Pride and Purpose).
    • Support growth efforts through pursuit of new opportunities, market research and network within and outside the firm I.e., your social capital.

Desired Skills & Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; Advanced degree preferred (CPA or MBA)
    • Rated top 25% of Big 4 class
    • Experience and familiarity with Life Sciences, Software and Technology industries
    • Strong technical skills and expert knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting; knowledge of IFRS a plus.
    • Entrepreneurial, hard-working, detail oriented with the ability to motivate engagement teams.
    • Creative, proactive, and forward thinking with a mindset to drive continuous improvement.
    • Approximately 10-15 years of work experience, including a minimum of 8 years as auditor for a public accounting firm, including a minimum of 2 years as audit senior manager. Advisory experience a plus.
    • Knowledge of technical accounting, specifically, revenue recognition, business combinations, stock-based compensation, debt and equity financings and leasing 
    • Proven ability to manage to successful completion complex projects with less-than-ideal data and support and tight deadlines
    • Ability to combine effective delegation and team management skills with the “roll up your sleeves and get the work done” approach when needed.
    • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
    • Ability to act and lead as liaison between senior management and external parties.
    • Ability to project manage efficiently and effectively in a virtual environment
    • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and advanced Excel skills
    • Some travel may be expected (about 25%)
