About the Position

Reporting to the Global Controller, the Revenue Operations Specialist will partner closely with the Global Business Operations team, including deal desk, order management, and the sales proposal teams to ensure timely, accurate billings and collections as well as supporting the proposals process.You will be responsible for assessing taxes related to all sales orders, including sales tax, VAT/GST and ensuring Company remains in compliance with relevant tax laws. When applicable, you will also be responsible for proactively ensuring compliance with income tax withholdings related to sales orders. 

Responsibilities

    • Own the accurate and timely creation of billings based upon terms of sales orders.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant tax laws related to sales orders, including accurate assessment, collections/remittance and related tax filings based upon relevant tax laws.
    • Ensure appropriate customer and/or Company’s tax exemption declarations and documentation are in place to support relevant tax positions actioned.
    • Manage sales tax system ensuring the U.S. sales tax tables are maintained to reflect changes in business and statutory laws.
    • Work with deal desk and order management teams to ensure customer’s billing and shipping information is complete and accurate.
    • Partner with product, customer success and deal desk teams to stay informed of any new product or service offerings in order to ensure appropriate application of tax on sales orders.
    • Manage all customer interactions related to billing, including responding to billing questions, and following up with accounts on past due balances.
    • Ensure timely and complete collections, including accurate forecasting of the timing of collections.  Enforce payment terms and continuously drive improvement of the collections process, minimizing days sales outstanding (DSO).
    • Partner with business stakeholders, including sales operations, channel and/or alliances teams to identify and action downstream transactions which are triggered through either the billing and/or collections process.
    • Partner with compliance and proposal teams to support customer compliance obligations and requests for proposals.
    • Own the general ledger accounts related to billing, including accounts receivable, sales tax, income tax withholding, ensuring accurate financial reporting and work papers in support of audit.  Assist with the annual financial statement audit.
    • Provide reporting related to billings, collections, aging and forecasting needed by the finance and accounting teams.
    • Prepare ad hoc analysis, reporting and other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, preferred.
    • 3+ years of experience in billings and collections for a Saas based business with global sales.
    • Ability to demonstrate working knowledge of sales tax and income tax withholding.
    • Excellent time management, analytical  and problem-solving skills. Energetic with the ability to remain flexible and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Proven ability to work autonomously within a collaborative team environment while building relationships with business stakeholders and customers.
    • Strong oral and written communication skills along with a positive customer service attitude.
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (v-lookup, pivot tables, etc.).
    • Attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, timely work product.
    • Salesforce CPQ, NetSuite, Avalara and billing platforms such as Ariba experience is preferred.
    • Basic knowledge of GAAP revenue accounting is a plus

What We Offer

Salary and Other Compensation
This position's standard base pay range is $105,000 - $125,000 annually. This position is also eligible for an equity package subject to the terms of the Company’s applicable plans. When determining a candidate’s compensation, we consider several factors: geography, skill set, experience, job scope, and current market data.
